Healthy Philly Cheese Steak Lettuce Wraps Recipe

Every New Year many people have make being healthier and more fit a resolution, and I’m no exception. Luckily, there are so many tasty recipes that are both delicious and low in fat that no one ever really needs to feel hungry just to get in shape. One of my favorite ways to cook is […]

  • I love the way you made these and I’m glad you explained the way the cheese tasted because I would have poo-poo’d American otherwise!

  • I need to incorporate lettuce leafs into my diet and cut out the bread… this would be an excellent way to do that! A great substitution!

  • This is a great idea. Hubs can’t have gluten anymore and I’m sure he misses cheese steaks. Time to surprise him!

  • You know I’ve never made a lettuce wrap before, and now I’m wondering why not?! That is such a healthier way to eat a wrap instead of with bread.

  • I’ve just made, myself, what is, quite possibly, the greatest – greatest – philly cheese steak sandwich ever. And I’ve had Pat’s in Philadelphia. I haven’t made anything this good in years.

  • Those look delicious – I would love to have them for lunch today.

  • Delicious. I might just put it in a tortilla or something. This comes just in time for lunch, too.

  • These look delicious!

  • Making it into a lettuce wrap? That’s fantastic! At In-n-Out burger, we order the protein-style which basically means they put the burger in lettuce instead of a bun. It tastes much better and is refreshing!

  • We love Philly cheese steak sandwiches. I never thought about adding them to a lettuce wrap, but will now. Yours looks delicious.

  • This looks so easy and delicious! I’ll definitely be making this over the weekend!

  • Great recipe to help reduce carbs

  • I’m such a big fan of lettuce wraps. Way to make a philly cheese steak healthier!

  • Mmmm, the idea of enjoying a classic Philly while keeping the carb count low is certainly a delicious idea!

  • Very creative, I love that you wrapped it in lettuce.

  • I love that these still look super delicious without being so heavy!

  • Yum! I love lettuce wraps! I need to try it as a philly chese steak.

  • I don’t even think I would miss the bread with this. Looks delish!

  • Oh these looks great I so love the combination of cool crisp lettuce and hot food.

  • YUM, I love that you used lettuce as the wrap. I have got to try this.

  • I’ve never done lettuce wraps, just cabbage. Looks delicious.

  • I still have never tried a lettuce wrap. They look delicious!

  • My husband would probably love this recipe. He LOVES Philly Cheese Steak.

  • lauren jonczak

Mmm, this is such a great idea! My boyfriend just ordered meat online and I have been dying to try something new. Thanks so much for this recipe, I can’t wait to try this this weekend. I would have never thought to use lettuce as the wrap.

  • I’ve been looking for a healthier alternative and this one looks great, thanks!

  • Marci

I have been to Dreams Puerto Vallarta twice now….it’s incredible!!! Both times that I have been there I have watched a sea turtle lay eggs on the beach! I also got to hold a baby sea turtle that they were releasing back to the sea. Many things to see and do there. Water is like bath water. Food is fantastic! Shopping is great!

I would also like to try the Aventuras resort!

  • Deirdre

  • Tricia Andrews

I’d love to go to Dreams Riviera Cancun. Although all of them look great!

  • Tricia Andrews
  • Wanda

oh, forgot the resort Dreams Riviera Cancun in Mexico is the place to go. Watching a movie on the beach would be great.

  • I would choose Dreams Punta Cana since I have been lucky enough to have visited Mexico over 5x already, yet have never traveled to Central America. I would love to spend time lying on the beach and enjoying some spa treatments!

  • Lisa R
  • Lisa R

Destination 2 and 3 sound great but I might choose 3 because of the dolphins. My husband and daughter did this in Florida but I couldn’t go cause I just got out of the hospital

    sibabe64 at ptd dot net

  • Lisa R
  • I’m kinda thinking the Dreams Riviera for the water sports. They all sound beautiful though!

  • chris mills

punta cana in the dominican republic

  • sandra

they all sound awesome but maybe the puerto adventuras in mexico because of the dolphinarium

  • Staci Gadberry

I would choose Dreams Riviera Cancun because it sounds very family friendly and we have 2 kids under 10.

  • Great idea.

    but who doesn’t love dolphins?

SO either Dreams Punta Cana or Dreams Puerto Adventuras in Mexico

  • Dreams Riviera Cancun would be a dream come true vacation! A girl can dream. 🙂 Good luck to you!

  • Frannie Heath

I would choose the Puerto Aventuras as it sounds like it covers a few of my favorite things! Like cooking demos, and dolphin interactions. Gotta admit I think the diving center would be off limits for me also, as I’m a class A klutz!

  • Deb

Sun and fun! I keep hearing about it, but I think it is time for some R & R! Spring break is so close by. What to do? So many choices. I would like to try Dreams Riviera Cancun Mexico. Sounds like there is a lot to enjoy!

  • Bridget Merker

    Dreams Punta Cana!!!!!

  • Bridget Merker

  • I’m all for escaping this cold! I would love to visit ~any~ of the places that you mentioned. 🙂

  • Lana Dillon

Like you I have had it with this New York winter. I personally would like Dreams Punta Cana so I could try my luck in the casino. It was a hard choice any would be fantastic. Dolphinarium OMG that would be so amazing so Dreams Puerto Aventuras in Mexico would be a close second or maybe I should make it my first….lol so much to offer in all three that I would have a hard time choosing. I think if I were traveling with my kids I would pick the one that had the most for them because I would be happy anywhere.

  • Lana Dillon

    I shared on FB

  • jo hahn

I’ve been to Dreams Cancun and the experience was terrific. If your kidneys can handle the extremely rutted road that you must traverse once you leave the highway you;ll be ready for a tall margarita! Beds are the most comfortable I’ve slept in besides my own. The food is excellent, lots of variety. Pool service is top notch. We’d love to go back someday. Go!

  • Definitely Punta Cana. We went in November and it’s beautiful.

  • Tina P.

I would choose Dreams Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. It is the most beautiful location of the resorts/destinations that are listed above.

  • I don’t really know much about any of them, but I would probably choose the Dominican Republic because I worry a little about travel in Mexico. 🙂

  • Nichole S

Dreams Puerto Aventuaras in Mexico for sure

  • I would kill to go their for my honeymoon.

  • Shanna

    Punta Cana!!!!!! How beautiful

  • Shannon Weaver

I would choose Cancun! Take me away!

  • ROBERT SCHUTTE

    CANCUN LIVE IT THERE

  • Joe K

Dreams Punta Cana, as I’d like to go to the Dominican Republic. I’d like the bike tours.

  • Ann Davidson

Dreams Puerto Aventuras sounds amazing as they have a spa, relaxation by the pool, great food and out of this world excursions. It would definitely be a dream come true, I may not want to go home lol.

  • Doris M.

I’ve been to Dreams La Romana mulitple times with my family. It was wonderful. I would love to go to Punta Cana! Will share on FB.

  • Amanda Matheny

Punta Cana! The Dominican sounds amazing and so does the pool..Don’t forget the horses and the casino too.

  • JT

OH NO!!! I don’t know which I would choose! AHHHH!!!! Oh wait… it was just a DREAM!! But If I must choose…it would be Puerto Aventuras in Mexico. I definitely would love to interact with Dolphins (can anybody say AWESOME) and the bicycle tour sounds like a great way to soak in all the Mexican sun and fun!!! I would love to take my mom on a vacay (her b-day is coming up) and this sounds like more than a DREAM!!!

  • Melissa Moore

I would live to go to Dreams Punta Canta!

  • If I were going without the kids, the location in Cancun would be my first choice. I have always wanted to go there.

  • Peggy Phillips

    Punta Cana PLEASE!!!

  • Rhonda Robinson

It is a tough decision for sure! I have stayed at Dreams Resorts with my young family and love the high quality standards Dreams offers. I would pick Dreams Cancun, My kids would be over joyed to swim with the 7 Dolphins or be a “Trainer for the Day” at Delphinus. It would be fun for the whole family and certainly a memory that would last a lifetime!

  • Kelsey

If I could get away right now I would LOVE to go to Dreams Punta Cana!

  • Haydee Sanchez Encarnacion

    I love Dominican Republic!!!!!

  • Dreams Riviera Cancun sounds the most fun! Free green fees, a rock wall, movie on the beach! Score.

  • Elly Craig

The Polar Vortex has me stressed! I need to unthaw on the beach at the Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa in the Dominican Republic!

  • sylwia

Definately Dreams Cancun! This is it!

  • Diane

Oh let’s escape this NY winter and head to Punta Cana! We can leave all thus snow and frigid temps behind!

  • Angela Grover

We took our two boys – 4 and 7 to the Dreams Riviera and it was amazing! Since then, my husband and I have visited their sister resort for adults only in Hualtulco – also unbelievable. The service, food, rooms, and cleanliness of these resorts are top notch. The kids club is quality far above other resorts – with the staff CPR and First Aid trained and the club strategically placed mid-resort, you will feel safe and content leaving your kids there. This year we are looking at the Dreams La Romana to go as a family. Go to Dreams Riviera – you will love it! Wherever you decide, with this chain of resorts, you can’t lose! Enjoy!

  • Stacy murphy

I would choose Puerto Aventuras it sounds wonderful! However any of them would help chase away the winter blahs I have right now!

  • Theresa Grzegorzak

    DREAMS RIVIERA CANCUN MEXICO

  • karen gonzalez

I would probably choose either Punta Cana or Puerto Adventures…only because of the tropical lush look of those places. Of course…any place that takes care of you the way an all inclusive would is wonderful! It would be a REAL vacation! That means…no cooking, no cleaning, no laundry….Only pampering…and well deserved I’m sure! And if you do bring children, the resort will watch them for a while if you need some getaway time to catch some sun or just explore the grounds of the resort. All I know is I would go where the relaxation takes me! Good luck…I hope you win so you can get pampered in paradise!

  • Lori Berry

For our 25th anniversary we went to a resort for the first time and chose Dreams Puerto Aventuras it was a great choice, the resort was small, the people were wonderful and service was more than we expected. We loved the view from our room and the beach. On our way home we decided to save all year and go away the next year. Our next vacation was Dreams Punta Cana Dominican Republic as we were hoping the resort was wonderful, good service great food. The beach was breath taking and you could walk along the beach for miles with no developement, only we found the boats came in close and fast on the beach. So once home we saved and this christmas we took our adult children to Dreams La Romana DR. The resort was great, great food, service the beach was different not the same pretty sand you could walk along with out development but you could snorkel out safely for quite the distance. They did a fabulous christmas events and gave the children a gift from santa it was very impressive. We are now saving to go to Dreams Costa Rica or Dreams Tullum next year. We save all year for that week at Dreams and think it is worth it every time.

  • naomi bailey

I would love the trip to Punta Cana. My husband and I never had a honeymoon and have not been able to afford a vacation since 2001. We have been married for 30 years and have 4 boys. My job is very stressful as I have to watch over 140 inmates. I really need this trip and it would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for this contest. I am crossing fingers, toes and eyes that I will win!

  • Gail Hummel

My favorite so far is the Dreams Punta Cana because the pool is soooo long 🙂 Also, I just adored the spa there. The romantic Italian restaurant overlooking the ocean is also great. I loved being in the Preferred Club because of the closeness to the ocean!

  • Jan D

I would chose Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic

  • Amanda Spall

Would love to visit the DR! 🙂

  • I would choose number 3 because of the dolphins!

  • We just returned from a trip to Cancun in December so I’m going to go with Dreams Punta Cana since that is on our wish list for a new place to try out! I can’t imagine it would not be wonderful!!

  • Isis balbuena

I love its place is wonderfull i love it

  • Patrick

Been to Dreams PV and loved it, would love to go back or try a different one.

  • TINA HAUPTMAN

To travel and meet the world, to take as many pictures as I can, I love Mexico and Dream Puerto Aventuras is my favorite place to go. This gated town is wonderful and the resort is so intimate and fun. It is a perfect get away destination. That’s why I would choose Dreams Puerto lets go have some fun , Sand instead of snow any day

  • I could use this kind of vacation right now. I need some sun and sand in my life. If I had to pick one of these I would go with Dreams Punta Cana. There are only 2 places I have always wanted to visit and Punta Cana is one of them. My boyfriend and I just started looking at villa rentals in Tuscany Italy (my other pick. Hopefully we take a vacation soon, we need to get out of this snow!

  • I would love to return to Dreams Punta Cana, it was the best dreams I have been to yet (out of 5 others). Seriously the best spa I’ve ever been to!

Letters To My Sons {A New Year – January}

To my sweet boy, It’s a new year, a time for new adventures…this month you played in the snow and watched the snow, visited the Cradle of Aviation to learn about air travel and space travel, learned about dinosaurs (and I learned you refuse to have any interest in the Stegosaurus, you are a T-Rex […]

  • That is so sweet. When they grow up and become men, they will be able to read those letters and know how much you love(d) them.

  • I love these. I forget too many of the wonderful little things my kids do and need a better way to remember them later. I’ll have to try something like this.

  • That is so sweet. I need to do this for both of my children.

  • So sweet, sounds like he is growing bigger and bigger each day. It will be fun for him to look back on these memories when he is older!!

  • Your letters always make me all smooshy inside. They’re so sweet! (And P, thank you for the note. It made me cry with happy.) xo

  • What a fun month! My boys prefer t-rex too 🙂

  • They are just too sweet and getting so big! As always love the pictures.

  • So sweet! My little one loves to play with boxes too. It’s like a universal sign of childhood 🙂

  • I love the expression on his face over the amazon box. My daughter is excited about packages all the time too. 🙂 LOL at Bruce Lee. I had to go back and look at what you were talking about.

  • What a cute little guy! His smile is contagious 🙂

  • What a sweet boy, they get so big so fast!

  • that second photo with the amazon box – priceless! looks like he just scored a really great new toy! 🙂

  • He keeps getting cuter and cuter!

  • That’s a very sweet post. I need to start doing these for my kids.

  • What a sweet boy. I love how he is peeking in the box.

  • You always have such beautiful photos. Love the short but sweet note to your son.

  • I just love the middle photo, with the box. It’s so bittersweet to watch them grow up, isn’t it?

  • Gah, I miss those dinosaur days. What a sweetie!

  • I love the photo with your little in the box. Those moments are just the best! What sweet boys you have.

  • My kids love a good box too! I love, love, love the image of your son in his!

  • I love, love that photo of your son at the window. So soulful and precious. Look forward to seeing more in the months to come!

  • So sweet. Great photos.

  • What a busy month! Isn’t it great that, no matter how much they grow, they still like playing with boxes?!

  • Sounds like him & my son would be best friends- they have so many shared interests!

  • So sweet! They are both getting so big.

  • I love the image of him playing in a box!! That is my favorite! Great capture.

  • Total cuteness! U love the last photo where he’s looking out the window, it’s very nice!

  • Penelope

That one is my favorite 🙂

  • I love the one of your son in the box! Such a true boy!

  • Sweet – the boxes will intrigue for many years yet 🙂 I loved that when our daughter was little she would want all the shipping boxes to decorate and build things with.
