A Bouquet Of Cookies

The holidays are quickly approaching, and that means an even more expansive to-do list than normal. As I was making my list and checking it twice, I was feeling uninspired as to what to purchase for some of my family and friends. So I was thrilled to be contacted by Cookies By Design, the original […]

  • I love, love, love to send them to my kids every year. I also just participated in a mailing cookie swap for charity!

  • I gift them to the couple that hosts our small group from church, they open their home each Wednesday night for us, so I like to bring them some goodies once in a while.

  • rachel

Yes. I LOVE baking for others and I LOVE receiving cookies from others 😉

  • We love to bake as well! In fact I’m doing a cookie exchange on Sunday.

  • I’m not good at baking cookies at all. However, I love giving other baked goodies to friends and family.

  • I love baking pies and cookies and gifting them, for the holidays! They’re a lot more personable than regular gifts.

  • Baking parties are so much fun. Yours look delicious!

  • So many decorative choices! The green frosting looks so fun!

  • How cute, we do cookies every year for the holidays.

  • Ok, these cookies look so good. I’m going to try your receipe with the boychild, he would love this.

  • What a great idea. I love to bake and I’m baking up lots of goodies this holiday season.

Wishes Are Coming True From @CapitalOne – Share YOUR #WishForOthers In Your City On Giving Tuesday!

This post brought to you by Capital One. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Penelope’s Oasis. During the holidays we may get lots of great things we’ve been wanting all year, but it’s also a time we think about others who mean a lot to us. It’s a time we say thanks, […]

  • I love hearing stories of people helping others in need this time of year. I listen to Kidd Kraddick on the radio every morning and love to hear the stories they share of picking out families to help during Christmas time. It always chokes me up. Awesome to hear that Capital One is doing the same!

  • I love to hear stories about companies like Capital One giving back! I took a quick peak at the twitter stream and it looks like people are having a blast making wishes (and having them granted). I’d love to make a wish for a family member, but for right now they don’t want much of their story to be public, which makes things like this really hard!

  • WoW this is such a great initiative from Capital One. I went to their twitter stream straight away and was fascinated by the photos mentioning Wish Received, so beautiful. I always cry from happiness when I see pictures or videos from families being brought together for the holidays or other wishes being granted.

  • What a wonderful campaign! I wish I lived in one of those cities so I could participate, but sadly, I’m hundreds of miles away. I’ve always wished that I could provide gifts and groceries for a family in need, but it’s not like people go around with signs on their shirts saying, “Hey, I’m the family you’ve been looking for!” One day, I hope I’ll get the chance to do something great for a family–I’m keeping my eyes and ears open!

Capital One has been doing a lot this holiday season. I have been seeing a lot of post about them this week. I think it is great when companies give back.

  • I love that Capital One is doing this. There are some fabulous people and causes that need their wishes granted!

  • What a great way to remind you to think about others, not yourself, in placing wishes. Christmas is all about serving and giving anyways, so this is a wonderful opportunity. I’ll have to think about who I could make a wish for, and hopefully they are granted that wish by Capitol One. Thanks for spreading the word!

  • A very inspiring campaign. Kudots to the Capital One, I hope private firms will use this kind of campaign. This one will be share to my friends. Thank you for the share.

  • What a great campaign. Maybe I’ll make a stop at the SF 360 Cafe the next time I’m in the city!

  • This is such an amazing campaign! I can think of two single mom’s (recently divorced) and who recently lost their jobs and they have the children who could just use a break, some happiness. I’d wish for them to go on an all expenses paid Disney Cruise. They are such good moms!

  • My wish is that we don’t feel the weight anymore of sending our daughter to university. It is crazy how much those bills got up to.

  • I wish I lived near one of those cities. This is a wonderful campaign! Kudos to Capital One for helping others like this!

  • Penelope

You can also share a wish on social media with the tag #wishforothers, so luckily everyone who wasn’t near the 360 Cafes can participate too 🙂 (until December 23rd!)

  • What a great campaign! Too bad it’s not in my part of the world. I think giving is especially important, not only on Christmas, and am glad to see companies giving back. What would I wish for my loved ones? Hmm…that’s a hard one. ^^

  • It’s a great reminder this holiday season to think of others & what they might need. I know I’m thrilled each time to see a wish fulfilled also. Even though I don’t know the people, I can imagine what a difference it makes in their lives.

  • This is such a wonderful campaign. I love that they are granting wishes.

  • This is so wonderful of Capital One. Great program!

  • I’m loving this. Capital One is pretty dope, they gave me my first credit card, glad to see them giving back.

  • This is why I love Vitamin Angels, they are always giving back.

  • In this day and age its hard to imagine there are still children that need help. I love the fact that Vitamin Angel gives back.

  • What a great campaign and such a small amount to help.

  • I’m very glad there are programs like these to help those in need.

  • Sounds like an awesome campaign and a great way to give back!

  • It is very sad that there are millions of children lack the nutrients that they need to function and grow. Thankfully, programs like this exist!

  • So many things that we take for granted here in America. No one has an excuse for this one. 25¢ won’t even buy you a cup of coffee these days!

  • Sounds like a wonderful program! It’s so easy to take things we have for granted and it’s sad that children in some places lack even the most basic of needs.

  • So many children that barely get enough to eat definitely couldn’t be getting the vitamins and nutrients their little bodies and minds need to grow strong and healthy. What a great program!

Who knew giving so little could benefit so much? Vitamin Angels definitely seems like the perfect name for this organization.
