Give The Gift They Will Always Remember #ExcitingHolidayGifts

It’s hard to shop for gifts for others, because unless they point blank tell us what they want, we are sort of guessing, and hoping we get it right. We can give a gift card, because they are useful and allow everyone to get what they want, but they are definitely impersonal, a little boring, […]

  • How cool is this! Some experiences just can’t be missed.

  • I’m not adventurous enough to ride a hang glider, but I wouldn’t mind taking some cooking classes. 🙂

  • I completely agree. An experience gift that I would love to receive would be a hot air balloon ride. I know my husband would be ecstatic if I gifted him a ride in a tank ;)!!

  • Pretty cool, as I’ve gotten older I’ve found that experiences are what are most important to me.

  • Wow, 2000 experiences? I’m sure it’d be easy to find something everyone can enjoy here!

  • rachel

What an amazing experience! Memories are with you forever… toys are only for a moment. 🙂

  • If I could only be so lucky to get the gift of an experience like one of those for Christmas.

  • I would rather give experiences than gifts. Makes more lasting memories.

  • Wow it would be so neat to gift some of these suggestions to my loved ones.

  • My best gift giving experience was sending my in-laws on vacation. They still talk about that trip. This would be over the top to give them an experience gift.

  • Diane

These are really cool ideas, snorkeling sounds like a blast. An experience gift is perfect to create wonderful memories.

  • That’s a perfect gift and I think most anyone would love it. It would let people do things they might not otherwise go for!

  • lisalia

This is pretty cool, I would love to do the Hot air balloon ride but I know my hubby wouldn’t go. lol

  • I love giving (and receiving) experiences as gifts! They really create the most long-lasting memories!

  • Wow, this certainly would be a git they would never forget. Not sure what I would pick if I got this.

  • Wow so many things to choose from. This would be great for someone who enjoys adventures.

  • This year I am gifting experiences and not just things. I love giving an experience as opposed to a thing that may be forgotten in a few days.

  • Now this is EXCITING! What a gift to remember that is for sure! I would love a gift like this!

  • Wow definitely going to bookmark this for more consideration after the holidays. I know my husband would die a happy man if he got to enjoy NASCAR again.

  • Oh my gosh, this would be perfect for my brother and his girlfriend! They love adventures and this would be right up their alley. I’ll have to talk to my parents about pitching in together to get something like this for her.

  • A real life penguin encounter would be amazing! Yeah, with 2,000 experiences, there’s bound to be something for everyone. 🙂

  • I did something along the lines of experience for my girls. I got them concert tickets instead of a toy or clothes. i think its something they will remember for yrs to come

  • I wish I had been more daring in my 20’s, before I had kids. I don’t know if I would go skydiving now that they are here. It looks like such an unreal experience.

  • What a fun way to gift somebody something unique.

  • Sounds like a pretty fun experience and I know a few people who’d enjoy it!

My husband has a dream of flying in a certain military plane. I would love to see if Excitations offers this experience so I can surprise him with the gift of a lifetime.

What Is Your Holiday #WishForOthers? @CapitalOne Is Making Wishes Come True

This post brought to you by Capital One. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Penelope’s Oasis. This time of year we tend to be more outwardly focused, whether donating to our favorite charities, volunteering our time to help others, or shopping for the perfect gifts to make those we love happy. There […]

  • That’s a beautiful wish, Penelope, and I very much hope it happens!

  • One of my biggest wishes is that the food bank in my community can keep up with the need this year.

  • Kecia

I love this campaign. So many holiday contests and such are about getting what YOU (the entrant) wants, this is a nice change!

  • Jenna Wood

I see so many outstretched hands in my life it’s hard to focus on one- I personally try to touch them all. This would be a tough pick, but I think it would have to do with no homeless going without medical care in my community.

  • What a wonderful program for the holidays, and what a beautiful wish you have–I hope it comes true!

  • I have a friend who spends every holiday alone. My wish is for her family to come together this year – hopefully it’ll happen!

  • Rachel

Great wish. I really hope your wish comes true. 🙂 Education (a good one) is so important. 🙂

  • I think there are just too many issues at hand for me to focus on only one. Great program!

  • What a great wish! I hope they receive donations for renovations. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • That’s a great wish, Penelope! I wish that no child would ever go hungry and that every child have a warm safe place to sleep every night.

  • Such a great wish. This is such a great campaign to teach people to give during the holidays.

  • I hope your wish comes true! That’s a nice wish. I wish for world peace. 🙂

  • What a great program. I have seen many wish campaigns and it is so throughtful.

  • What a wonderful reminder that this is the season of giving and thinking of others. I’ll go add my wish!

  • Wonderful wish! I hope it comes true for you and your community.

  • What a beautiful wish! I wish that charities that help the homeless would have plenty of blankets, and outerwear to provide for those that need it this winter.

  • Marcie W.

I love this campaign and wish I could see more of this from numerous companies throughout the year. My wish for others is that every child would be safe, loved and well cared for.

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Campbell Soup Company for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. Campbell’s Soups are something I grew up on, because they were tasty and ready as soon as they were heated up. Now that I have my own family, I usually do a bit more […]

  • Looks good! I know that my son would probably enjoy this. 🙂

  • These look so easy and perfect for weeknight dinner.

  • I love enchiladas and really love easy and few ingredients. Can’t wait to try this!

  • I didn’t even know they had those in stores! It sounds like a great dinner choice for busy days!

  • I have not seen these yet at our store. I must try them. They look great!

  • These look really good and simple to make. I’m going to have to keep my eyes open for this new Campbell’s product when I go grocery shopping next month because my kids and I love chicken enchiladas.

  • Looks fantastic. So simple to make and who knew you could make it with Campbell. So awesome!

  • OH wow, I love Campbells soup but this is the first time I’ve heard of this. I must try it.

  • This sounds delicious! The Creamy Herb & Garlic with Chicken Stock also seems like a great base and I’m curious what I can make with that!

Help Bring The Comforts Of Home To Our Troops While Enjoying @MarieCallender’s Dinner #ComfortsFromHome

This post brought to you by Marie Callender’s. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Penelope’s Oasis. This week was incredibly busy for us, between school plays and teacher meetings, and planning birthday parties and Thanksgiving dinner. I didn’t have time to cook everyday, so I picked up some  Marie Callender’s dinners that […]

  • These are so tasty! We buy them in bulk at Sam’s Club & Costco, and out of the microwave they’re just as good as oven baked. We really enjoy them for quick dinners. I like that they are supporting the troops too, that always makes me want to purchase a product more when I see that on packaging.

  • I love to buy those for my son! He practically inhales them. What is it about potpies that’s so comforting?!

  • I love homemade pot pie and I can honestly say that Marie Callender’s are the next best thing. I bought the family size chicken pot pie last week and my family loved it! And kudos to them for supporting our troops!

  • What a great campaign. I love pot pies too they remind me of childhood and they are oh so yummy.

  • What a great program, I’m sure all the items sent are much appreciated.

  • My husband use to eat these all the time.

  • What a wondrous campaign! I absolutely love pot pies – just thinking about them makes me hungry.

  • I have no idea how challenging it must be to be away from home and family, especially around the holidays. It’s wonderful there is support for those who are so far from the comforts of home.

  • Oh this is amazing, I love Marie Calendars. I love they are supporting our troups.

Movie Night #FandangoFamily

Hubby and I went on our first movie date since our first date, which was almost nine years ago. I heard Kirk Cameron just released a limited run inspirational movie called Saving Christmas, only out for two weeks, and I really wanted to see it. We bought tickets online at Fandango.com, called our trusty sitter, […]

  • I rarely go to the movies, so it’s always a pleasure the rare times that I do get to go. This sounds like a wonderful movie, too!

  • We use Fandango All. The. Time. It’s the only way we buy tickets for the movies. We pair it up with our AMC card and save the service fee that way too, the annual fee for the AMC card has more than paid for itself just because of that.

  • With so many great movies coming out around the holidays, I know it’ll be much busier. It’s great you were able to bypass the line & get in much quicker. I’ll be using Fandago this holiday season!

  • I haven’t been to the movies in such a long time (I mean it’s been ages), I seriously need to go one of these days.
