Wishes Are Coming True From @CapitalOne – Share YOUR #WishForOthers In Your City On Giving Tuesday!

This post brought to you by Capital One. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Penelope’s Oasis.

During the holidays we may get lots of great things we’ve been wanting all year, but it’s also a time we think about others who mean a lot to us. It’s a time we say thanks, and are more outwardly focused on sharing and giving. Capital One has been making wishes come true with their awesome #WishForOthers campaign (a quick look at their Twitter stream shows they’ve been granting lots of wishes!) and they are going to keep going until December 23rd!

Want to join in the fun, and maybe make a loved one’s wish come true?

birthday wish

So if you would love to make this holiday season brighter for a family member, a friends, a neighbor, or even your community, tell Capital One what you want! You can also share your #WishForOthers on Twitter, Instagram, or the Capital One Facebook Page until Dec. 23rd for the chance to make it come true.

I have to admit, the wishes I’m seeing that are focused on helping those who serve, and those wishing for family to come together for the holidays…those are so beautiful! I hope those all come true! Everytime I see another “Wish Received” in Capital One’s twitter stream, I get a little thrill…one gentleman wished that his wife could get a new wardrobe for her new job- and it was granted!

So what is YOUR wish for others? If you are in Boston, Chicago, Manhattan, or San Francisco, stop by a Capital One 360 Cafe wishing booth and share yours!

  • I love hearing stories of people helping others in need this time of year. I listen to Kidd Kraddick on the radio every morning and love to hear the stories they share of picking out families to help during Christmas time. It always chokes me up. Awesome to hear that Capital One is doing the same!

  • I love to hear stories about companies like Capital One giving back! I took a quick peak at the twitter stream and it looks like people are having a blast making wishes (and having them granted). I’d love to make a wish for a family member, but for right now they don’t want much of their story to be public, which makes things like this really hard!

  • WoW this is such a great initiative from Capital One. I went to their twitter stream straight away and was fascinated by the photos mentioning Wish Received, so beautiful. I always cry from happiness when I see pictures or videos from families being brought together for the holidays or other wishes being granted.

  • What a wonderful campaign! I wish I lived in one of those cities so I could participate, but sadly, I’m hundreds of miles away. I’ve always wished that I could provide gifts and groceries for a family in need, but it’s not like people go around with signs on their shirts saying, “Hey, I’m the family you’ve been looking for!” One day, I hope I’ll get the chance to do something great for a family–I’m keeping my eyes and ears open!

Capital One has been doing a lot this holiday season. I have been seeing a lot of post about them this week. I think it is great when companies give back.

  • I love that Capital One is doing this. There are some fabulous people and causes that need their wishes granted!

  • What a great way to remind you to think about others, not yourself, in placing wishes. Christmas is all about serving and giving anyways, so this is a wonderful opportunity. I’ll have to think about who I could make a wish for, and hopefully they are granted that wish by Capitol One. Thanks for spreading the word!

  • A very inspiring campaign. Kudots to the Capital One, I hope private firms will use this kind of campaign. This one will be share to my friends. Thank you for the share.

  • What a great campaign. Maybe I’ll make a stop at the SF 360 Cafe the next time I’m in the city!

  • This is such an amazing campaign! I can think of two single mom’s (recently divorced) and who recently lost their jobs and they have the children who could just use a break, some happiness. I’d wish for them to go on an all expenses paid Disney Cruise. They are such good moms!

  • My wish is that we don’t feel the weight anymore of sending our daughter to university. It is crazy how much those bills got up to.

  • I wish I lived near one of those cities. This is a wonderful campaign! Kudos to Capital One for helping others like this!

You can also share a wish on social media with the tag #wishforothers, so luckily everyone who wasn’t near the 360 Cafes can participate too 🙂 (until December 23rd!)

  • What a great campaign! Too bad it’s not in my part of the world. I think giving is especially important, not only on Christmas, and am glad to see companies giving back. What would I wish for my loved ones? Hmm…that’s a hard one. ^^

  • It’s a great reminder this holiday season to think of others & what they might need. I know I’m thrilled each time to see a wish fulfilled also. Even though I don’t know the people, I can imagine what a difference it makes in their lives.

  • This is such a wonderful campaign. I love that they are granting wishes.

  • This is so wonderful of Capital One. Great program!

  • I’m loving this. Capital One is pretty dope, they gave me my first credit card, glad to see them giving back.
