If you buy Altoids or Sucrets, you have candy tins lying around. There is an enormous amount of great ways to reuse candy tins, whether for practical uses, to save money, in crafts, and even science projects. Once I started collecting ideas, I couldn’t believe what people were suggesting (you can make a pocket flashlight […]

You feel loved when your husband helps out around the house, and he feels loved when you tell him you appreciate him. Or maybe you feel most loved when he spends quality time with you, and he wants lots of kissing and cuddling to feel that you care. There are 5 love languages, ways couples […]

A mom’s group that I belong to read the 5 Love Languages of Children – love that book too! Thanks for sharing the link to the assessment!
-
We did this during a Bible study at church. It was interesting and I learned a lot about myself AND my husband.
-
Our pastor had my husband and I read this book as part of our premarital counseling and it was really insightful. I retook the quiz without reading the book again this weekend and there weren’t really any surprises and my husband and I actually score pretty similarly. Acts of service is definitely my love language to show other people and I sometimes don’t use the words of affirmation as much as I should because I feel like I’m showing my love and appreciation, why do I need to say it too.
-
My hubs and I took this test once. We scored pretty similar so I guess that is a good thing. I think this is a worthwhile read.
-
I’ve briefly glanced at the original 5 Love Languages, but from what I’ve learned already, I love this series of books! It’s so important to understand each other – it sure does clear up a lot of confusion and potential mess in the future! 🙂 Now, how to get my husband to take this quiz too…
-
Interesting! I’m going to go check it out, I always have fun taking quizzes.
-
I’ve seen this a lot lately, I guess I need to take the test!
-
Definitely interesting. Thanks for sharing!
-
Enjoyed reading this post and taking the quiz! I actually own the book and haven’t gotten around to reading it yet (was intended for Hubby and I to read together). Looking forward to reading more of your stuff!
-
I have the book, but I keep getting distracted and not finishing it!
-
I remember learning about this in sociology in college! I’m words of affirmation and time together while my husband is acts of service. It’s so hard for me because I don’t think in actions!
-
I’m the same way. I appreciate acts of service, and I feel like my husband should know that he is loved because I “show” him. He needs to hear verbal affirmation though. It’s definitely helpful to recognize our differences so we can be more conscience of making either feel loved in a way that’s effective.
-
This is weird!! My honey and I just too this this weekend while we were in Palm Springs!
-
Thanks for sharing this. I will take this along with my husband. Should be interesting.
-
I believe this. I don’t need much as a man really. I just want a little affection now and then but for the most part just sitting in the same room or hanging out together is enough to show me that she cares….now on the flip side…Kas is a little tougher than me.
-
I want to take the five love languages test

Doing this for couples counseling
Having a child is definitely one of the happiest moments in the lives of most women, but the entire process of pregnancy brings a number of stresses and difficulties. Aside from those actual nine months of pregnancy, which puts a lot of physical and mental pressure on pregnant women, many women also struggle with the […]

My skin is so stretched from Carrying Sweetums that my body will NEVER be the same. LOL
(She was 13 lbs 3 1/2 oz. and 24″ long.)
-
I agree – whatever makes you feel good about yourself (and you can afford) you should consider.
-
I would love to have a tummy tuck.. and when I’m totally done with having babies and nursing I’m gonna get a breast reduction and probably a lift as well. 🙂
-
Holy cow that was one big baby! 🙂
-
I’m in need of some of this for sure!
-
After three children, I could definitely use some work, but as time goes on, I’m feeling more comfortable about myself.
-
I have to admit, I am extremely pleased with my body – so far. I’ve had 3 kids in 4 years and my stomach is a bit flabbier but overall I’m ok. Now when I am done nursing, I might want something done to my boobs….maybe….but we’ll see.
There are certainly some wonderful surgeries out there. But after having 3 c-sections I never ever want to go under the knife again. Recovery is beyond awful (at least it was for me)

I love romantic, feminine hairstyles from times past, and this simple Renaissance hair style tutorial is super pretty. It’s a beautiful braided updo using a reverse S braid technique, and can make any woman with a few moments to spare into a Renaissance beauty. You need to be able to make a french braid or […]
-
I love this hairstyle. It also a great way to get your hair up off your neck on these hot summer days.
-
Gorgeous!! And you have such pretty hair to start!

How on earth do you do that to yourself?? I would have a horrible time, but would absolutely LOVE to be able to do that! that is so pretty!!
-
I so wish I knew how to French braid my own hair.
-
Such a pretty and unique style! I can’t even make a french braid so unfortunately I won’t be able to do this one.
-
Wow, that is gorgeous! Very romantic. I can’t wait until my hair grows outs.
-
This is FANTASTIC! I’m bookmarking this and will try and convince my daughter she wants it for formal night on our cruise….LOL I can live vicariously through her since my hair isn’t long enough!

I love that, I just don’t have the patience!
-
Your hair is gorgeous! I LOVE the romantic look!

I just had my hair cut super short and am kicking myself after seeing these photos!

Taht was cool the way you did the pictures. I wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it. Very sexy hairstyle. You’re talented!

-
Hmmmm …. wonder if I could pull this off with my hair? It’s a lot shorter than yours. I may have to give it a go tomorrow!
-
That is amazing! I get frustrated trying to do just a regular French braid.

So cool! I use to put all sorts of things in them. I love those little covers, too cute.
I love this post. Thank you for sharing!
Great ideas! They’d also be excellent in kid’s lunch boxes – instead of using wasteful sandwich bags, you could put snacks in the tins – they’d be perfect for some cheese cubes or almonds or a few crackers.
Oh my gosh! These are wonderful ideas! I wish you wrote this post years ago, I could have reused all those Altoid tins I recycled! I especially love how cute they look all dolled up in the last handful of pictures! Do you have a tutorial? So, so cute!
What wonderful ideas! Now I need to gather tins!
This is a great idea! I’m always looking for new ways to organize but the plastic bins get pricey.
Hey thanks for these neat ideas!!!! I always toss mine but it felt weird because they are so sturdy!
Mindy~
Such great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Birthday candles! I never would have thought of that!
Kas
who would have thought! Great ways to use that tin and I love the covers!
love the business card idea!
Lots of great ideas , Penelope! I use to collect old tins from food stuffs, ect… I kept a few, as some are BIG! I have used the small tins like this for a few of the things you mentioned, and I also use old pill/medicine/vitamin bottles for some of the smae things! I like the small first aid kits, you can keep them in your car, suitcase or in other areas in your house for quick 1st aide! the covers are a cute idea.
Being as that I’m neither artistic or crafty, I drooled over the gorgeous efforts of others. Especially the berry covered tin! Great ideas! 😀
Hey! Interesting! We just have to think out of the box and make the use of everything around us! Thanks!
Great ideas! I’m always looking for more storage, but somehow my Altoids tins (even ones with only 3 mints left) seem to lie around taking up space.
