Last year we published a post in which we talked about the attitude a person has about frugality and I talked a lot about how your car is for transportation, that’s it. It isn’t a symbol of your status. This year I’m telling you that the same can be said for your home. Downsizing your […]
This post brought to you by White Cloud. All opinions are 100% mine. It feels great to live a greener lifestyle, because in addition to helping ourselves, we are working toward saving the environment for our children. Whether we recycle, make a conscious effort to reduce our footprint, buy environmentally friendly products that can be […]

We use green napkins and toilet paper and many eco-friendly cleaners. I also love cleaning with vinegar and water with a hint of lemon for scent.
-
Great contest, I’m gonna check it out.
-
Thanks for sharing!
-
We love living the green life!! We gave up paper napkins for cloth and use little paper towels.
-
I often purchase White Cloud at Walmart and will keep an eye out for their green products.
-
We use cloth napkins but I’m all for green toilet paper! That’s one thing you don’t want to reuse. 😉
-
Ahahahaha!
-
We try very hard to be clean and green in our home. Sometimes it is harder to do, but we have focused a lot on our cleaning products and our food supply
-
I use lemons, vinegar, and baking soda for a lot of my cleaning. This contest sounds great… got to check it out! 🙂
-
I’ll have to check out the board to get more ideas on how to live greener.
-
I love White Cloud! It is one of the few that does not seem to clog my toilet.
-
We do our best to minimize our carbon footprint — now as we plan for chickens and our garden, we are making sure that we are staying green in those areas too.
-
I’m trying to get more green this spring.
-
I love that they’re made of 100% recycled fibers- it annoys me when companies claim to be made of recycled materials but then when you look it’s only like 5%.
-
This is a fun giveaway! Thanks!
-
I need to try out white cloud and see how it works for us.
-
No it’s never too late to live green. Every bit counts.
-
This sounds like a good contest. I’ll take a look.
-
Not only is green paper products better for the environment, it’s also typically better for septic systems if that’s what you use for waste removal.
-
I’ve never heard of White Cloud before. Thanks for sharing!

My laptop is the command center of my life. I use it for research, shopping, education, communication, and most importantly, to work. I also have years of photos and videos of my family, all our precious memories, stored on my computer, so it wouldn’t be an understatement to say that my computer crashing or being […]
-
I’m always worried about losing important documents/files on my computer. I will check this out.
-
I’m using Carbonite, and the services appear to be very similar.
-
Agreed I would be a mess if I lost everything on my computer. I do have mine on a external hard drive but that could go as well.
-
It’s really scary to think about losing everything on my computer. I need to invest in something like this.
-
Yes! I have had my computer totally crash … and lose everything! It was a super sad day. Since then I back up my important documents and PHOTOS! 🙂
-
I agree, backup is so important! I just gave a talk on photo organizing and backup this morning! My photos are what are most important to me, and of course my blog…which gets backed up nightly to Dropbox. It’s definitely important to have a system!!
-
That is definitely something to consider.
-
I need to get a back up system for our stuff.
-
I just got an external hard drive.
-
I love Norton!
-
I back up monthly. I’ve lost my hard drive to to failures losing many things however my pictures/vids were saved since I backed up. It can be frightening!
-
Sounds like a great way to keep your documents safe!
-
We’re completely obsessed with backing up our data. We don’t use an online option but we back it up numerous ways ourselves (a partitioned Raid drive, usb drives, CDs, etc.). I guess that’s the time I’m super glad that my husband is not just a tech geek but OCD as well. LOL!
-
I really need to take the time to back everything up!
-
After having my laptop stolen nearly 10 years ago, I’m big on backing everything up. I have my photos backed up in at least 2 different locations and my entire laptop is backed up in another location. I’d hate to lose so much of my life that’s on my computer.
-
I can’t imagine the stress of loosing everything. Sounds like an awesome service!
-
Having a safe backup is always important.
-
Love Norton!
-
I did not know that norton had back up now!
-
Backing up is so so so important.
-
I so need this! I can’t tell you how many photos I have lost due to my computer’s dying.
-
I really need something like that! I am always worried about losing all of our photos.
-
That punch to the gut you feel when you’ve lost important docs is awful. Peace of mind is well worth it!
-
I really need to invest in something like this.

Spring fashion is my favorite of the year. I love cotton dresses and more delicate, airy fabrics, and very happy to put those heavy knits and darker colored clothing away for the year! One of my favorite dresses is a white cotton strapless dress with a ruffled hem, and I look forward to sunny days […]

I love the spring, and this year I’m more excited about it than ever because we have our new home, and for the first time I have a garden and yard to have fun with- I love DIY home projects! This is what my poor yard and garden look like now, unloved by the previous […]
-
Now that we have a front and backyard, I plan to start gardening. Luckily I have my MIL right across the street to help me get started.
-
Love all the programss they offer!
-
Oh, how fun! We’re in the middle of getting our garden, coop and flower beds all going … I love this time of year!
-
I’m hoping to make my backyard a haven this year!
-
I am so ready to get busy in the garden, and love visiting the Home Depot this time of year.
-
I was just telling my husband I need to get to Home Depot for some new plants!
-
I started clean-up yesterday & had to run to HD for a new rake & yard bags. Grabbed a potted basil while I was at it & saved a trip to the grocer…lol.
-
Definitely going to sign up for the Garden Club, the boy and I have been wanting to plant a flower garden.
-
Very cool.
-
I can’t wait to get started on our garden.
-
I can’t wait to watch you spruce up your yard by yourself. That’s a healthy task!
-
Love the HD!
-
Thanks for sharing. I love Home Depot. I am going to sign up for the club.
-
I hate that we rent.. we have no backyard here.. I also hate that if we buy a home half of them in our area have no yard. So congested here! I do enjoy gardening with my FIL who I ALWAYS give a Home Depot gc for his birthday 🙂
-
I love Home Depot! I could spend hours looking at everything there.
-
That’s such a great program!
-
Our backyard is too small for a garden, but I do however have a small space on the side of my house so I might start a little garden there to see how it goes!
-
I love the spring too. I love planting new flowers in my flower bed.
-
I can’t wait to grow my own veggies in my own garden!
-
I can’t wait to see how you transform your backyard! Our yard is always a constant work in progress and we’re forever making trips to Home Depot to pick up something we need.
-
me too I can’t wait to get out and do something with the landscaping here
-
I’m ready to have my boyfriend start the gardening and yard work. How’s that for a twist? I’ll stay inside or go shopping for the supplies. 🙂
-
Totally works for me!
-
I definitely need some tips for sprucing up our yard due to the desert climate. I hope you’ll share some pictures showing how yours turns out!
-
I have not an ounce of green thumb in me so while I have all these great visions of what I want to do, I never try b/c the few times I have didn’t turn out so well LOL
-
Spring is my favorite season and I wish I was doing a garden this year. Sigh. I will do one next year.

Honestly, “most” people with “lots” of money, you really wouldn’t know it… because they are smart with their money and don’t waste it. That’s why they have it. 🙂 We all can live more simply, really.
Thanks for sharing!
I’ve always viewed our homes as a place to live. We’ve never bought one for “investment” reasons, or gussied it up to impress others. The improvements we’ve made have either been necessary or because we have wanted them, not to ‘show’ that we have stuff or money or whatever. These are all sound tips in the post.
