Now That Spring Is Here, I’m Ready To #DigIn To My Garden And Make It Beautiful #DigInHD

I love the spring, and this year I’m more excited about it than ever because we have our new home, and for the first time I have a garden and yard to have fun with- I love DIY home projects! This is what my poor yard and garden look like now, unloved by the previous owners and ready for me to take them on and make them wonderful! (after Storm Sandy and a very cold and snowy winter, my poor garden needs love and care!)

garden needs care

I am participating in The Home Depot Spring DIY program, and am planning to spruce up our lawn and garden quite a bit…and all by myself. I’d love to to create a paver path, grow a small herb garden and some pretty flowers, create a barbecue area for fun summer days, and maybe one day even grow my own veggies like my dad does (he can make an entire organic salad, with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and onions, right from his own garden!) You can visit the Garden Club on The Home Depot website to learn more about ideas and projects you can do yourself, as well as how to do them (most are “easy” for beginners, but the results are amazing!).

Interested in sprucing up your own lawn and garden? The Home Depot is offering free membership into the Garden Club, which features perks such as over $300 in email exclusive savings annually, lawn and garden ideas every month that are specific to where you live, and even access to Home Depot’s gardening experts to help you along.

Now that we have a front and backyard, I plan to start gardening. Luckily I have my MIL right across the street to help me get started.

  • Love all the programss they offer!

  • Oh, how fun! We’re in the middle of getting our garden, coop and flower beds all going … I love this time of year!

  • I’m hoping to make my backyard a haven this year!

  • I am so ready to get busy in the garden, and love visiting the Home Depot this time of year.

  • I was just telling my husband I need to get to Home Depot for some new plants!

  • I started clean-up yesterday & had to run to HD for a new rake & yard bags. Grabbed a potted basil while I was at it & saved a trip to the grocer…lol.

  • Definitely going to sign up for the Garden Club, the boy and I have been wanting to plant a flower garden.

  • Very cool.

I can’t wait to get started on our garden.

  • I can’t wait to watch you spruce up your yard by yourself. That’s a healthy task!

  • Love the HD!

  • Thanks for sharing. I love Home Depot. I am going to sign up for the club.

  • I hate that we rent.. we have no backyard here.. I also hate that if we buy a home half of them in our area have no yard. So congested here! I do enjoy gardening with my FIL who I ALWAYS give a Home Depot gc for his birthday 🙂

I love Home Depot! I could spend hours looking at everything there.

  • That’s such a great program!

  • Our backyard is too small for a garden, but I do however have a small space on the side of my house so I might start a little garden there to see how it goes!

  • I love the spring too. I love planting new flowers in my flower bed.

  • I can’t wait to grow my own veggies in my own garden!

  • I can’t wait to see how you transform your backyard! Our yard is always a constant work in progress and we’re forever making trips to Home Depot to pick up something we need.

  • me too I can’t wait to get out and do something with the landscaping here

  • I’m ready to have my boyfriend start the gardening and yard work. How’s that for a twist? I’ll stay inside or go shopping for the supplies. 🙂

    Totally works for me!

  • I definitely need some tips for sprucing up our yard due to the desert climate. I hope you’ll share some pictures showing how yours turns out!

  • I have not an ounce of green thumb in me so while I have all these great visions of what I want to do, I never try b/c the few times I have didn’t turn out so well LOL

  • Spring is my favorite season and I wish I was doing a garden this year. Sigh. I will do one next year.
