This last year I started to take classes and workshops online. I didn’t really think it could be done (how much can you learn virtually) but others would sing the praises of this modern way of learning about practically anything, so I gave it a shot. I loved it. I discovered you really can learn anything from the privacy and comfort of your home, and if you want to learn about cooking, crafts, and photography, a great site for you is Craftsy.
Craftsy is a site that not only offers high quality workshops for you to learn a variety of crafts, but in an interactive learning environment. You can watch hours of instructional, in depth, high definition video at any time, download course material, and even ask questions for the instructor to answer in a virtual classroom- that means you can also share your results, and get real feedback!
I took the “Secrets of Slow Cooking: Mastering the Braise” course workshop and tried Molly Stevens Chicken Thighs Braised with Bell Peppers, Onions and Vinegar recipe. Not only are the videos very in depth, but they teach tips I never heard elsewhere, and when one of my sons wanted my attention, I was able to bookmark my spot in the video to return to later.

I feel more skilled in the kitchen too! I never braised anything before (the extent of my “slow cooking” was tossing everything into a crock pot and coming back six hours later to serve the meal- braising adds so much more flavor and richness to a meal!).

If you would like to learn more, visit Craftsy. There are courses in cooking, crafts, photography and more, taught by world renowned instructors who love their craft and to teach, and you can sign up by email to stay up to date and learn about new classes and deals. Their food and cooking classes look particularly amazing- you can learn the art of Artisan Bread Making or how to Perfect the Pie Crust!
I was surprised to discover I love virtual learning much more than an actual classroom, and the fact that the material is always available to me makes my investment more worthwhile. I love the interaction, the fact that it’s on my schedule, and my ability to practice as much as I want- privately. I’m able to talk to other classmates as well, which I love because my best friends are women I met online.
Take your holiday traditions to a whole new level with Craftsy’s holiday gifting and cooking courses. Craftsy is also offering my readers up to 25% off a full-length Craftsy course! Whether you’re a pie perfectionist or gift-giving guru, Craftsy has something for you. Learn more about Craftsy and how to turn your ideas into reality!

That looks delish and I will have to check out that site. It sounds like a perfect site for me.
