This year we discovered how much fun watching movies as a family is, and family movie night is now a weekly tradition. We love it! There are so many great movies that our sons can watch with us, and honestly, we kind of love a lot of “kids movies” anyway, so whether we watch a family friendly comedy, drama, or an animated film, it’s a fun time.
Now that the days are shorter and the weather is colder, we especially love to snuggle together to watch movies and have snacks. Our favorite movie night snacks are salty popcorn and FLIPZ® Chocolate Covered Pretzels (FLIPZ® is my absolute favorite snack, because sweet and salty? Pretzels and chocolate? Best. Thing. Ever!)
My husband and I love FLIPZ® plain, in a little cocotte, with nothing else. Whether it’s milk chocolate covered pretzels or white fudge pretzels (we go back and forth on which flavor we are in the mood for- sometimes we just choose both), we don’t need much else to snack away furiously while watching a great adventure movie.
My sons loved it over ice cream during warmer months, broken up into small pieces that make the most delicious topping ever. It tastes great mixed into ice cream too.The rest of the year, they’ll just eat it as is, or mixed in with popcorn and dried cranberries as a sort of homemade trailmix, and they find ways to have fun with it too.
Family Movie Night
Who needs to go out, when great movies and the best snacks are available at home at any time, in any weather? We have blankets, a great selection of our favorite movies on dvd or streaming, comfy sofas and pillows, and good company (if I do say so myself), and there are no long lines to get in or buy snacks. I’d say family movie night at home is pretty hard to beat.
