It’s a busy world, and it seems everyone is multi-tasking their way through it. I fall into that trap often, and I say trap because for me, multi-tasking is the surest way to get nothing done. I start something, start something else, get caught up in something else, think I’m getting lots done because I began so many projects, and before I know it, the day is over and nothing has been finished.
It’s a busy world, and I can’t multi-task to make my way through it. Instead, I make use of timers, to do lists, and planners. Then, doing it one step at a time, I get through it. Organization is key, because if everything is where it’s supposed to be, and there is a spot for everything, it just makes life so much easier.
Tips To Help New Parents Stay Organized
- Keep it simple. You don’t need every product marketed to parents, so just stick with what you need and what works for you.
- Keep the most important products within reach, so when you need them you don’t have to hunt for them.
- Return everything to its place after using (if you remember to- I had that mommy brain going on big time).
- Ask for help when you need it, because we all need help and it’s ok to ask for it- no one can do everything alone!
- Prioritize your time, because there will be a lot of demands on you, and there is one most important thing on your to do list as a new parent. Everything else has to be on the back burner for a while, but since you do have to do other things, remember that To Do lists are your friend!

I can greatly relate! I’m needing to get more organized.
I admit that I sometimes still struggle with prioritizing my time. I literally have 101 things that needs to be done, and half of the time I’m lucky if I complete 10, bad right? I’m really trying to work on it, but with my husband being gone 70% of the time, it’s so hard. I need help and I need it BAD. I write it down, that don’t help. I try to do the hardest things first, but it doesn’t help. So, I definitely need to work on this (as I have no more hairs to pull out lol).
I love the tips to ask for help and prioritize your time!
Great tips!! I am a person who is open to getting more tips and tricks on organizing, as I suffer from being an unorganized mess at times, hahaha!
I am so guilty of not returning things to their places. I need to work on that!

Prioritizing my time seems to be my biggest hurdle. There just never seems to be enough hours in the day!
Great tips! I am sorely lacking in the time management department lately.
I couldn’t imagine not being organized. I don’t use planners just my brain which can be a mess sometimes lol. I think the biggest would be schedule, stay with routine as much as possible. It will help so much when kids begin to understand everything.
You have some great ones listed, I think those cover the important ones.
I totally agree about keeping most used items nearby. There were some things I didn’t even bother to put in a permanent home because they were used so much.
One of my biggest goals for this year was to get more organized. I need to get serious about it again. I’m going to start with some spring cleaning and get rid of a lot of stuff.
These are great tips! It’s hard to get organized sometimes with kids.
It’s not easy staying organized. I am learning to delegate to not get too overloaded.
It’s so hard to stay organized. I’ve been making and keeping an editorial calendar to keep myself organized in that aspect
I always felt uncomfortable asking for help when my daughter was little. Looking back now, I wish I had your advice then, it would have made me a better mom sometimes if I had not felt the need to always look like I had my act together. Most times I didn’t!
I’m working on getting life organized as we speak. Prioritizing my time has been the biggest thing to tackle….especially with working from home.
Yes, they are distracting little critters aren’t they. Lucky they are so cute 😉
I’m terrible with time management. I know that I should be able to accomplish more in a week than I do, I just need to figure out how to do it!
I rarely use to ask for help though I do now but I still don’t put things away.
Yes, multi-tasking is the name of the game!!
Do not be upset if you cannot get things done. You can always do it another day.
I agree that you don’t need to have every single item marketed to parents. I do better with just a couple. More creates clutter in my life and I can’t stand clutter.
