The Great American Grill-Off #SteakOver

We are a carnivorous family, and we love a good steak. Whether grilling on the stove top, broiling in the oven, or cooking it up outside on a barbecue, we love it all. Walmart now sells new USDA Choice Premium Steaks, and we were challenged to the Walmart Steak-Over Challenge, to see who among us can cook up the best steak.

Challenge accepted.

In my family, all the men love to cook, and all feel especially confident that they make the best steak ever, so I hosted a mini grill-off with Walmart’s new steaks and the women were the judges. The men paired up and made rib-eyes with their own (not so) secret recipes, and let me snap phone shots of the finished product to share with you (and if you are starting to feel hungry, you can head over to Walmart for affordably priced USDA Choice Premium Steaks for your own family)

The Great Mini Grill-Off!

Contender #1- Ribeye steak grilled on the stove top in an iron skillet after being rubbed in an olive and lemon mix and seasoned (creation by the sons in law)- paired with organic peas

Contender #2- Ribeye steak created with marinade of butter, parsley and garlic, broiled to medium rare (courtesy of my brother and dad)- side of buttery mashed potatoes

Maybe it’s just plain ol’ loyalty, but the wives all voted for their own husband’s steaks, leaving us with a tie. Regardless, they were all pretty darned good!
