Women Can Have it All

“Women today are encouraged by some to have it all: money, travel, marriage, motherhood, and separate careers in the world… However, you cannot do all these things well at the same time. You cannot eat all of the pastries in the baking shop at once. You will get a tummyache. You cannot be a 100-percent […]

Awesome reminder to be content. This helped me to put in focus many of the dreams that I have. Some have to be accomplished in another season for sure. Thank you so much for these profound words of wisdom.

    Hope your weekend was great.

  • Jules

I love this! When we try to have it all and all at once, we end up doing nothing very well, just everything mediocre. Like it says, can't be 100% of everything!

Congrats again and good luck on your new journey (=

  • Laura

If only life could be so chronologically consistent. Its Ok to do it "backwards" get your education when you are older and have done your child rearing..or hell have a child when your "older" I think its never to late to start!

  • Chef Eureka

Hello, over from MBC to follow you ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Michele

    Hi Penelope..
    I am following from MBC.
What a wonderful blog. You are awsome. Thanks for being so active in helping moms get connected….
    I'm following for sure…

  • Zeemaid

This is a beautiful quote and well worth reminding ourselves of once in a while.

I also wanted to thank you, I received my prize in the mail and it was wonderful. I blogged about it this morning and wanted to thank you. It was a real treat getting it!

  • Ang

I may need to write that up and stick it on my fridge to read when i feel the need to.

I am here from MBC, but I was already a follower. LOL

  • Penelope

FruitfulVine, thank you for visiting. I always find inspiration on your own blog.

Jules, that is how I feel too…I can't focus on everything at once (trying to is futile, and makes me feel like a failure) but one at a time I can do, and do things well.

  • Penelope

Laura, I agree with you, the chronology does not matter. It's the focus…when you are doing something, do it well, with all your heart (or don't do it at all…not every woman wants to be a wife, or have a career, or travel, etc, so don't…we should all follow the beat of our own drum).

  • Penelope

Zeemaid, I'm glad you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

MBC gals, thanks for popping by- I'll be visiting back soon!

  • Jessica

I was thinking about this today. Do you mind if I link it on my page? I don’t have a lot of followers but I like being able to know where to find things like this.

  • Penelope

Of course you can link to it. I love the theme of your blog, you’ll have a zillion followers in no time.

The Safety 1st Complete Air Car Seat with Air Protect

Most states currently require car seats for children up to six years and sixty pounds, and rear-facing car seats for infants under 20 pounds. The importance of car seats is so well recognized that hospitals do not allow newborn babies to be brought home unless a car seat has been properly installed to safely transport […]

That is great Watson, welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Brain Injury

As a father of four I cannot believe that anyone would think of driving their children in a car without the correct type of car seats. We have even changed cars in the past to make sure that we can use the cars seats with the airbags. Its madness not to have the right type of seating.

“Make Ahead Meals for Busy Moms” Cookbook- Review and Giveaway

Jane Doiron, like most women, is a busy woman who wants to help other moms with a mealtime makeover. She is a mom of two boys, a teacher, and more, and while she loves to cook, often found little time to put together the healthy, wholesome meals that her family deserved. Thus began Make-Ahead Meals, […]

I'd love this book, because I really only have time to cook on the weekend, and need ideas that will carry me through the week.

  • MaggieM

I would LOVE to win the cookbook for my son and daughter-in-law. They have two little girls, one just started kindergarten and the three year old attends the pre-school her parents own. My son works full time for a computer software company in one city, lives in another city and commutes. My daughter-in-law is the Director of a pre-school that is in a different city than she lives and picks her daughter up from kindergarten at noon, then back to the pre-school. They are so busy that they often order out. Both love to cook, so this cookbook sounds like the perfect solution for their busy family.

Oh, I really like the sound of this! I am SO not good at making dinner happen, and if I don't have it planned out, we end up with something thrown together like grilled cheese or mac and chs. WAY too often. I feel so guilty, but I don't know HOW to cook really – never learned – and having two young kids underfoot makes it kind of hard to concentrate. I would love to be able to do most of the work ahead of time (when my husband is around to watch the kids!) and then have less steps to worry about at 5.

  • The Eclectic Dabbler

    I would love this cookbook! I have an almost 3-year-old, a 15-mo-old, and I'm 4 months pregnant.
Making dinner is the longest, hardest part of the day! But I've found if I spend one day/week doing meal prep in the kitchen (for the rest of the week), dinner time is much much less stressful!
I have only a couple "make-ahead" recipes, and a few crockpot recipes, but most meals taste best fresh, so I'm always hesitant to "transform" a recipe into a "make-ahead" . . . but I would LOVE to have a book chock-full of recipes that would help me with the craziest time of the day!
Not to mention–what a great idea to make and freeze some meals before the baby comes!

To top it off, my husband is gone to Army training for the next 3 months so it's just me and the boys. Thanks for your consideration!

I would love a bracelet. As for the colors, if they could do a green and white or green and silver, that would be lovely. I would absolutely LOVE to have the initials. My friend is about to have her baby and this would be a great gift for her!! And the clasp? I guess a toggle.

The I.D. bracelet…I like the blue.

    thanks,

Fireproof, by the Kendrick brothers, was such a wonderful movie that I would be disappointed to see its impact decrease so soon, but as time goes by and other (less worthy) movies come out, this tends to happen. My husband and I waited a long time to see this movie (it was not playing in […]

I also recommend the Love Dare book to anyone who is having problems in their marriage, or if they just want to feel closer to their spouse.

Those are good lessons. I haven't heard anyone mention the ones you did when discussing the movie.

Mailing a package does show someone honor, and everyone likes to receive mail.

I would really like to get a copy of the movie sometime.

DH and I watched the movie and I immediatly purchased a copy of the love dare. I do think it was a great movie and hope that more people take the challenge to commit more to spouse and Christ!

I love this movie too. I wish that more people would see this movie before they ever get into a relationship.

This movie is an awesome movie. We've seen it several times. We even hosted a movie night at church and showed it. I think it is a must watch movie for all persons who are married or just about to be.

    One more thing,
