Help, I’ve Stood Up & I Can’t Sit Back Down!

Little man has been pulling himself to standing, often waking me up in the morning by standing in his crib and calling out to me as he watches me lay in bed. The funny thing is he sometimes starts to cry while standing, and stays in the same spot, and it occurred to me that […]

Who needs the movies when we have our kids to entertain us! Watch out though, the kitchen cupboards and such are not safe anymore…pretty soon there will be pots and pans all over the floor!

Planning For 2011- Organizers and Calendars

If you’re a To Do list kind of gal like me, if you live by planners, or if you just want to be a more organized person, then you know the importance of a good planner and calendar. I generally have a planner that I carry around in my purse, a wall calendar, and a […]

The Case of the Disappearing Naps & SuperYards

Little man has been taking a holiday from his regularly scheduled napping program. Instead of taking four naps a day, he suddenly takes two naps only, for a couple of hours each. He has also been steadily becoming more regular for sleep and nap times- they occur at almost the same time daily. I’ve actually […]

It was always an adjustment for me when they slept less and began expanding their world to parts unknown…keep the bathroom doors shut!

  • lfhpueblo

It does sound like time for a play pen for him to play in. Some place safe for him to be put when the adults don't want to keep holding him.
If he's tired he'll fall asleep in there, if not he'll be playing if you keep him stimulated and switch his toys around daily. I'd only give him up to three toys a day in the playpen and then switch them out to something else the next day. You could rotate them every two or three days back and forth. If you do that you'll also soon start to see which ones are his favorite toys, so you can make sure each day he has one favorite toy in the playpen with him and then others that are less favorite but still stimulating.

  • ModernMom

It is always so hard when they switch their sleep routines around you! Best of luck my friend!

Babies at Seven and 1/2 Months

Baby at 7 months (about 32 weeks) increasingly try to repeat sounds they hear, whether made by people, pets, or objects. Babies may try to “talk” to eachother, and if you listen closely, you’ll likely find they seem to be having a conversation, taking turns making baby sounds in response to eachother, and pausing to allow […]
