How To Make Organic Popcorn At Home

I love natural popcorn, but I don’t love paying $4 a bag to buy organic popcorn. So what’s a gal to do? Make organic popcorn at home, of course! Here is a home made popcorn recipe that is super easy. You will need organic popcorn kernels, vegetable oil, and a pot. If you like kettle […]

I can smell it cooking from here. I love popcorn made that way (won’t even TOUCH the stuff from a microwave).

  • lisa

looks great. i’ve never made popcorn any way except in the microwave πŸ™‚

  • Love it. We use a brown paper sack and the microwave. It works and there is less clean up and you don’t have to use oil πŸ˜‰

  • Janessa

My grandpa used to grow a “popcorn garden” and we got to make it like this all the time when I was growing up. I loved it.

  • Yum! I’m not a big popcorn fan but do like it once in a while

  • Melinda

I laughed about your slow cooker comment, i can’t believe you let it go for 4 hours LOL
I love my popcorn make on the stovetop, It tastes sooooo good.

  • I’ve done that lots and it’s fun! You just have to be paying attention. πŸ™‚

  • monique

Interesting. I’m banned from making popcorn cause I always burn it. My mom doesn’t use a lid, but she “shakes” the pot as the popcorn is popping. She doesn’t burn a thing. I’m jealous!

  • Brandy

I love you for this!! Seriously!! Thanks.

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

Oh this looks good. We love popcorn so thanks for the tips πŸ™‚

  • Mother Mayhem

LOVE making homemade popcorn, but I haven’t done so in a looong time. The thought of making popcorn in a slow cooker gives me the giggles. πŸ˜‰

  • Tammy

We don’t make a lot of popcorn, but when we do, I like using my air popper.

  • This is how my mom always made popcorn when I was a kid.

  • You know I just picked up some kernels the other day in the bulk section! I so need to make some popcorn balls, you got me thinking about getting that going! Thanks for the tip on olive oil I would have used it.

  • Tammy

cool – thanks for sharing; we’ve popped natural popcorn kernels in the microwave but have never tried it on the stove top.

  • Dee @ Cocktails with Mom

Big popcorn fans here. It’s usually our weekend treat but its microwaved babe but thanks of sharing another Im sure healthier way of doing it :).

  • Great snack & low calories!

How To Make Money Having a Great Garage Sale

It’s time to spring clean, but you just can’t get on the decluttering bandwagon. One of the hardest things about decluttering is the awareness of the money spent on getting all that stuff that now sits unused. Β For some people, the best first step to shedding the packrat habit is to pass along your no […]

we had a yard sale last year and brought home hundreds it was awesome!

  • Here from a blog hop and happy to meet you,
    <3, New Follower

  • lisa

i’m so lazy i just take my stuff to our church. I think we have a bad location for a garage sale anyway.

  • Tammy

Very timely, we’re having one at the end of the month to raise money for our Girl Scout Troop –

Interesting how even in the country things are ‘cultural’ so to speak. No one here has Garage Sales on Sundays. They always run Thursday PM to Saturday PM.

  • Great tips girl!

  • Valerie

Hi I am a new GFC follower.

  • we are thinking of having one – because we are moving in a few months – so a bunch of the stuff we definitely don’t want – we want to try to sell! I hope we can sell some of it.

  • Brandy

I live in a really busy road so my yard or garage sales always do really good. I hope to have one soon because we have so much to get rid of that is in good shape!

  • My husband and I have talked about having a garage sale for several years now . . . but I have always been so intimidated with the idea of setting one up. We do NEEEEEEEEEEED to do it — goodness we have so much stuff that needs to be GONE . . . I just just get overwhelmed thinking about clearing it all out.

Great tips — there were several things here I hadn’t thought about. Maybe Hubby and I can do this after all.

I HATE garage sales, but having one this year is a neccesary evil. I hate the agressive bargaining people…blech!

  • Janessa

    Good luck on the sale!

  • SamanthaD

We’re organizing right now to have a garage sale in about 2 weeks! We just had a sale last year but I’m surprized at everything we have to sale this year – I wonder where it all comes from!?!?

    Great Tips!

the toothpaste trick has been in my arsenal since I was a teen πŸ™‚

  • Hmm… I’m still not sure I’m going to run out and buy hemmorhoid cream πŸ™‚

  • I need to keep some toothpaste in the house for just that reason. I use gel, but that’s a good impetus for change right there!

  • Tammy

What great tips! I had heard about the toothpaste and tea bags but not the others! I will definitely keep the sunburn one in mind as I tend to get those a little too often!

  • Brandy

    Great tips! Thanks for sharing!

  • Mother Mayhem

Thanks for the tips! Gold Bond powder is really great for sunburn, and a dab of Vicks Salve helps bruising if you apply it as soon as you bump yourself. Use both only in places that you aren’t close to your eyes of course. πŸ˜‰

You’ve never heard Snoopy laugh? I posted a youtube for you. LOL

  • Annie @ Mama Dweeb

those are really great tips!! I have not heard the toothpaste idea, I am going to try that actually. I have heard the tea bags idea and can say it really does work!

  • Heather @ Girl Gone Mom

Love this! My husband gets those nasty cold sores. I’ll have to try the lemon idea.

    Good ideas. Thanks!

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

    Great helpful tips! Thanks πŸ™‚

  • Awesome tips! Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice tips! I didn’t know about the lemon on a cold sore deal; I always mix a bit of cherry malox with cherry children’s tylenol and the “swish.” A doctor shared that with me and it WORKS — not only is the pain relieved but the cold sore is gone so quickly.

  • Kelly

Great tips – thanks for sharing!

  • I tend to get cold sores, so I will have to try the lemon sometime. It is definitely cheaper than Abreva if it works. πŸ˜‰ I never thought of ibuprofen for a sunburn. It definitely makes sense, though. Thanks for the tips!

  • Hi thanks for sharing Beauty tips really i like it . it increase my knowledge.

  • Those are great tips – I have heard some – but not others. I never heard that about Visine before. Or the lemon for cold sores.

I heard something like this in a comedy skit years ago and it started with the son writing very long, sweet, thoughtful letters talking about school, his subjects, the struggles of college life and later asking for money. As it went on, the son’s letters got shorter and shorter, to the point where it finally ended with

“No mun, no fun, your son.”

    to which the father replied,

“Too bad, so sad, your dad.”
