Add Me To The iPhone 4s Club

The iPhone 4s was one of those things that everyone would go on and one about but I never got…until I got it. Like many things, until you own and use it, you don’t realize why exactly they are called “smart phones”…intuitive, extremely useful, multitasking- I’m in love with my iPhone, and have started to […]

  • I honestly don’t have much use for the apps, but I do love the GPS (so handy when yard saling, lol) and the camera!

  • Im jealous, I want one so bad.

  • Penelope

Before this, I had those lame phones that took grainy pictures and basically did nothing but make calls (and not like this- no face time or the ability to do other things at the same time that I’m on a call)…so not only do I love it, but I totally recommend it…sooo worth it!

  • I LOVE IT… and the Pic’s WOW that is fantastic i can’t wait to hear more about your phone

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

    Oh – congrats!!

  • I have the regular iphone 4 and love it. Did the camera change from the 4 to the 4s because my camera doesn’t blur the background 🙁

  • I have an android which I love now.. I’m with verizon who did just get the iphone and I might stick with android.. iPhone is so tempting though!

  • Penelope

The phone on the iPhone 4s is supposed to be much better (for photos and video) than the 4, although the 4 is a great camera too.

  • You are going to love it! My favorite app is Instagram!

  • YES I love the camera on my 4s more than anything else and have in fact used it for several of my last review photos. Welcome to the club 🙂

  • I’m jealous of course

  • I have a Droid and I love it. They offer tons of free apps.

  • I am so wanting to join the club!!!

  • I can’t wait to finally get an iPhone! Soon!! Love your first picture! So sweet!

  • Megan

I tried (really I did) to do the touch screen and I just couldn’t do it. I am too used to the Blackberry. It is fun to play on but I can text on it to save my life.

  • Donna

I would not trade my iPhone for any other smart phone. Love it!

  • A belated welcome to the iPhone family! I love my iPhone and can’t wait til I can upgrade again!

Avgolemono Soup

We love Greek food, and one of my favorite Hellenic recipes is traditional Avgolemono, a Greek chicken soup made with egg (avgo) and lemon (lemono). Avgolemono soup is one of the few things my son actually eats, and I seriously could eat it every day. The lemon adds an incredible flavor twist to this delicious […]

  • Heather!

Just pinned it so I can try it next week! Thanks!

  • Hello Penelope, I saw that you followed me on Twitter and thought I would take a gander at your site. I love what I have found. Very sweet and interesting blog you have here. AND I love Greek food too. Can’t wait to try this soup because lemon is also a fav of mine. I will try to stop in again from time to time. Keep up the great posts! Blessings. christianeveryday.com

My First Car AKA “The Boat”

I was recently asked about my first car, which brought back lots of memories from my college days…a really fun time in my life. I shared my story of “The Boat”, a huge, silver station wagon that looked like a mom car and pretty much mortified my friends (I didn’t know the type of car […]

  • I agree, I loved my first car. I didn’t have to depend on my parents to take me places.

  • Theresa

You always love your first car. 🙂

  • Oh man you should have seen my first car! Ha! It smoked soooo bad and I bought it out of a junk yard (with my very own money mind you!) for $250!!! Woot! LOL

  • Oh my gosh, that brought back a ton of memories. My dad used to say that my first car was round, because there wasn’t a spot on it that wasn’t dented.

  • So glad the tank kept you safe! I guess I loved my first car too.

  • I got in a horrible car accident in my first car thankfully no damage to the car but oh boy my back was bad

  • Oh man, my first car was a piece of work. Beat up old Volkwagon rabbit!

  • So glad you were okay! I learned how to drive in a boat too – my dad had an awful huge cadillac, that was a bear to parallel park!

  • My first car was an 80 something camaro! That was so long ago!

  • RIP Boat. I’ve always wanted a Subaru! My friend in HS had one and I loved it.

  • I had a Saturn for my first car and Loved it!!!!

  • Love the video! My first car was a brand new honda civic, which was in the shop more than an old car.

So true! I’ve been married for 19 years and I still remember our Pastor telling us that marriage is never 50/50, but that a husband and wife will trade off who does more at different times and I have found that to be true. There are times when I’m truly giving more and times when he is better at that. Like life, marriage is work and changes through the years with life as it changes. Thanks for this great post that reminds me to remember to do my part and reminds me of the joys, too!

  • Donna

These are timeless, tested and true, tips. If all couples adhered to them, there would be much fewer (if any) divorces.

  • Wonderful, wonderful tips I definitely agree with them

  • Great tips! I love them. 🙂

  • So true about not keeping track. Grudges are small thorns in your marriage and they can grow to a full sized bush if you’re not careful.
