What’s In My (Diaper) Bag #HuggiesTester

A woman’s handbag reflects who she is at that moment in life, whether she carries a diaper bag (new mom), a clutch (packing light and ready for a fun evening), a briefcase (working gal), or nothing at all (free and totally unencumbered). We pretty much carry our lives in our bags: our ID, money, daily […]

  • Looks very similar to what was in my diaper bag as well as several outfits, thermometer and a few other needs:)

  • Ours is bursting at the seams – cloth diapers take a lot of space!

  • Mellisa

Even though my kids are no longer in diapers I still like to carry wipes in my purse. You never know when you will need them.

  • Love that you keep it to only the basics. Some people have super heavy diaper bags with loads of unnecessary stuff!

  • I usually don’t carry a lot in the diaper bag (just the necessities), unless my daughter is spending the night with my mother or mother-in-law. My handbag is a different story, though. ~lol~

  • Apps are a must have on the go!

  • Snacks, wipes, diapers, toys, and an extra outfit were always in our diaper bag.

  • I need to download some apps for Sweet T.

  • My purse is much more disorganized than yours but I do have wipes in there.

  • Looks like what I would probably have in mine if I still carried one.

  • I love the new wipes case. It’s so nice looking

  • You have a ton of great essentials in your diaper bag! It’s going to take some getting used to carrying a diaper bag again when my little girl gets here in August.

  • You have such a cute diaper bag.

  • I wish that was all I had in my bag, but I do have all of that stuff!

  • I still carry around wipes!

  • Jennifer @ The Quirky Momma

Oh man, I had wipes, my wallet, checkbook, lipgloss, chapstick, keys, diapers, carrot bum cream, about 3 outfits for both kids, toys, cell phone, cough drops.

  • I rocked a Coach diaper bag as well but also carried a separate purse for my own goodies. I needed all of the diaper bag space with three kids close in age!

  • I love your diaper bag!

  • Your diaper bag is super cute!

  • You are so organzied!

  • My kids are no longer in diapers, but I still carry wipes around with me.

  • I just keep a spare pair of leggings in my truck. My daughter has an accident about every 6 months while we are out.

  • I love being in this phase of life where I no longer need a diaper bag. I just throw a few diapers in my purse and I’m good to go. It’s awesome.

  • Marina Valentine

As the years are going by, my diaper bag essentials are changing. I will advise though that the most important thing to have in your diaper bag is wipes and diapers, and for that I always turn to Huggies!

  • love the new wipes case. makes it look so fancy

  • You have a much more less full diaper bag than I did. I had everything but the kitchen sink LOL

  • Donna

I still care wipes around with me, too, even though I haven’t carried a diaper bag in a number of years. 🙂

  • Me too!

  • My kids are finally out of diapers but I still keep the Huggies wipes handy for messy hands.

  • Tammy

I can’t tell you how glad I was to ditch the diaper bag and go to a teeny tiny handbag when my daughter was out of diapers – it seems to me that I carried everything but the kitchen sink in my diaper bag…just in case… LOL!

  • Wipes are valuable even without little ones. Life is full of messiness!

  • nicole @nicky_olea

Cute post. With my first son I had an actual diaper bag and though it was super cute and stylish, I found it to be so cumbersome…with my second son, I found this great purse that I loved and it was so great.

  • I no longer carry a diaper bag. It’s amazing at how much nicer they are these days. Huggies was one of my favorite brands for little ones.

Another Season To Reel Me In @Oxygen #ImHavingTheirBaby {$50 Visa Gift Card Giveaway}

Like many of you, I watched Oxygen’s first season of I’m Having Their Baby with fascination, as women I didn’t know shared parts of their lives with us and let us watch as they made possibly the most difficult decision of their lives: whether to place their child up for adoption. Like many of you, […]

  • I don’t know that I could watch that – it would break my heart.

  • Mami2jcn

I like the fact that they have an open adoption and can stay in touch.

  • Heather S

I like that she can still see the baby and it is not goodbye forever.

  • Sara Floyd

I like that they can stay in touch! I am glad she put the needs of her baby first!

  • I really liked season 1 – such strong women!

  • Stephanie Phelps

I love that they are willing to share their love with another couple even thou it is so painful but thank goodness they allow her to have a small part in the babies life!

  • jennifer

I love the fact that it was an open adoption!

  • Heather!

I loved the relationship between the birth mother and adoptive parents. It would be so difficult, I think, to maintain it, but so good for everybody involved…especially for Nayamah, of course.

  • DEBIJOT

I am glad that the birth mother had the courage and wisdom to allow her daughter to be adopted.

  • Livivua Chandler

the part where she took her daughter to get help and talk about her emotions in counseling. I am so proud of that

  • Heather Hayes Panjon

I Love That This Beautiful Little Girl Has Brought These Families Together And Allowed Them To Grow And Gain Strength

  • D Schmidt

My favorite part is that she does not regret her decision and that Jamie has changed her life and that her children seem to have adjusted. I love that both families are working together to do what is best for everyone, they genuinely seem to be happy and comfortable together. I expect lots of moments of courage and inspirational stories from watching the new season. It is fabulous to see truly selfless acts.

  • Jessie C.

I got teary when Jamie gets to visit her daughter in the adoptive family. This is just not what happened to one of my best friends, I love how both families stay in touch and get involved.

  • I love that both sets of parents had such a great relationship. This situation is difficult and having such a strong bond is essential

  • Stefanie Gladden

I love that it’s an open adoption. I am not able to have kids and I hope to one day be able to have a surrogate, so I can relate to this show, I love it

  • Laura Jacobson

My favorite part was towards the end when they were visiting…was so touching to see Jamie talk about it and see grandma hold her and interact too. I can see how hard it was for jamie….yet she was so happy Nayamah had a good dad! Just brings tears watching!

  • Amanda Hoffman

i love how they still visit and followup and they gave the birth mother and her daughters pictures of her.

  • nannypanpan

i like that the mom got the 8 yr old daughter counseling, must have been hard on her like it was the mom

  • meredith

I love that these families are sharing their stories and bringing to light this very valid option for raising kids, highlighting the positives and negatives

  • Amanda Sakovitz

I think its great that the biological mom still keeps in touch with the adoptive family

  • Tabathia B

I love the level of maturity that Jaimie showed knowing she couldn’t handle one more child and knowing she wanted her baby to have a stable two parent home. The relationship is great between the two families and is so relaxed and they bring Nayamah to visit her birth mother and siblings and that Jaimie was wise enough to get her oldest daughter in counseling because she didn’t understand the adoption

    tbarrettno1 at gmail dot com

  • Lisa Brown

I was appreciative of Jaimie standing by her decision, although very hard, and working on letting go, yes, it is long process. Being able to visit with Nayamah, to see her progress and to see how well she is being cared for, I think is beneficial to Jaime and to her family, Nayamah’s siblings. Touching episode.

  • Thomas Murphy

I like that the adoptive family and birth mother still stay in touch.

  • Barbara M

What touched me the most is the maturity of the birth mom – wanting what’s best for her baby.
    Thank you.

barbara dot montyj at gmail dot com

  • Valerie Taylor Mabrey

The way the ADOPTED PARENTS treated the natural parents family.
    vmkids3 at msn dot com

  • Kathy

Having been in the position, and putting up a baby for adoption, the whole show struck a chord with me – not just 1 specific part.

  • Cynthia C

I like the way the adults decided to stay in touch so that everyone could remain involved.

  • Angela Wilson

I liked when the adoptive family and the birth mother still stay in touch. It would be hard for both sides I think. I don’t know if I could do it.

  • Robin

I love how the parents keep in touch with each other

  • Kenny F

birth mother and adoptive mother saying in touch

  • Elizabeth Ray

The birth mother was most concerned for the well beeing of the baby. Good for her!

  • Ellie W

I like the relationship between the birth parents, the adoptive parents, and the child. I found it inspiring.

I Wish I Had These When I Was A Kid @Invisalign #INVStraightTalk

This is a sponsored post. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own. When I was growing up, I remember looking forward to getting braces, because a beautiful smile makes a great first impression. I especially looked forward to metal braces, because I thought they looked so cool with those colored rubberbands around the metal […]

  • I would love to get Invisalign myself!

  • I sure wish Invisalign was an option when I wore braces. I rocked the metal for almost three years solid!

  • I hear ya. I wish these were available when I was young as well!

  • These are pretty cool!

  • I’ve always been curious about this!

  • I have a friend who just finished her Invisalign treatment. When I first met her I had no idea she was wearing them. They really are THAT clear.

  • Mellisa

I’m definitely glad that kids have more options like this these days.

  • Many incidents I got into as a child, I’m very surprised that I never needed braces. That’s good that they’re now coming out with alternatives opposed to metal braces, though.

  • I wish I could get Invisalign. I’ve always wanted it.

  • I just can’t get over how you can’t even see these on the teeth. I wish it had been around when I was a kid.

  • Tammy

I would consider getting these for myself, unfortunately our insurance doesn’t cover enough of the cost to make them affordable for us.

  • I wish this had been an option when I was a kid. I had the metal mouth for 3 1/2 years. My oldest son is looking like he is going to need braces so we are definitely going to look into this.

  • Donna

I would love to get Invisalign for myself. 🙂

  • I wish Invisalign were able to correct my teeth, but I’ve checked and I’m too complicated for the task!

  • I had braces when I was younger. No regrets other than not wearing my retainer long enough. Would love to get Invisalign now.

  • Penelope

If it’s something you are interested in, they suggest getting a second opinion (apparently orthodontists who aren’t very skilled at using them sort of steer people away from them, but an Invisalign experienced orthodontist may have more insight)… from what I’ve seen of your lovely images, you don’t have anything out of their realm- I never even noticed any dental cosmetic problems, you always look fine to me.

  • I would have preferred this over braces for sure!

  • I would love to get these but I’m not sure if the cost is covered by our insurance

  • My daughter is going through invisalign and she loves how you can’t see them.

  • I wanted these but now I can’t get them since my teeth are just too fragile 🙁

  • I would loved ot have had Invisalign when I needed braces.

  • I didn’t need braces as a kid but I do NOW (thanks to wisdom teeth). I would like to get Invisalign some day.

  • I know my older sister wishes these had been around when she was younger.

  • Gene O. Hayes

Metal braces, made of high-grade stainless steel and attached to the front of teeth, are the most common. Some patients may complain about discomfort from metal brackets rubbing against the skin. If you experience any pain or discomfort, ask your dentist or orthodontist for some dental wax to place over the brackets.

  • Mellisa

I didn’t need braces when I was a kid but if I had I would have definitely liked the invisalign.

  • I am considering these for my kids. I had braces and they were a pain.

  • I wish that this was around when I had braces.

  • Penelope

I had to use dental wax myself because my metal braces sometimes caused me pain (but I’d rather not even have to do that- why get sores and bleed in the first place?)

  • If I’d needed braces as a kid, these would have been the ones I’d wanted.

  • I’m considering this for my son!

  • Jennifer @ The Quirky Momma

I had regular old braces in middle school. I really wanted them until I got them, then they hurt! My daughter was disappointed that she doesn’t need either glasses nor does she need braces.

  • Maryann

    I had regular braces

  • My dentist just recommend I get invisalign since my teeth are shifting.

How To #DigIn And Grow A Salad Garden At Home (#HeartOutdoors)

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot. Look at my beautiful lettuce garden. Just look at it. I did that 🙂 Using the City Pickers Raised Bed Patio garden kit from Home Depot, and other products listed below, I finally accomplished something I alway wanted to do: I’m […]

  • I love that you’re going organic with your garden. We can’t wait to start ours 🙂

  • Time to plant some tomatoes now 🙂

  • LOVE it! It’s already too hot here for greens but I want to do it in the fall.

  • Mellisa

This turned out fantastic! I really want to grow some things this year.

  • love your little garden! Can’t wait to see it grow!

  • We just bought some tomato plants this week. Planning on a small little garden in my backyard.

  • I didn’t know that either about lettuce and loved the video!

  • I’m glad to hear your garden is growing well. How cool to have a kit to aid in your project!

  • I need to make a trip to Home Depot to pick up some gardening things, but I’m going to wait until after my kids’ upcoming birthday party. My 3yo gets so excited every time we drive by Home Depot. The last time we were there she loved walking through the garden center.

  • It looks great!

  • That’s awesome! I really want to grow my own food.

  • Jenn

Your lettuce garden is awesome! I’ve tried starting a garden but my dogs always eat anything I grow! LOL!

  • Penelope

The kit really made it so much less intimidating, and I feel like in the future I’m able to try tackling it without a kit (I can reuse the kit in the future for just herbs, for example, and grow my lettuce in our backyard ground)

  • What a great little garden! Decorative and useful!

  • Looks pretty awesome!

  • Wow! Look at that progress!!

  • Your garden looks like it’s off to a great start! We have the hardest time growing lettuce in ours.

  • Your garden looks great!

  • Ive always wanted to grow vegetables but worried about the cats and animals that like to run through my yard. Thanks for sharing

  • I bet it tastes amazing!

  • That is awesome! I want to grow a salad!

  • Penelope

This is my worry too, lots of neighborhood animals…we are putting a fence up soon, can’t wait!

  • I have one of those and have tomatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers, and habaneros growing. Oh, and some chocolate mint, too!

  • This is so exciting! I just want to do everything you do, Penelope. You inspire me!

  • I already told my hubby I want a garden…

  • That garden kit is fantastic, I need to see if my Home Depot carries these.

  • It looks so lovely. I wish we could do it. But we live in an apartment.

  • I love your pics! Sadly, I don’t think I will get more than a patio garden going this year.

  • It looks great and I love the raised bed idea!

  • Donna

I wish I had planted a salad and salsa garden… but rabbits eat up everything when I do. :/

  • What a great idea to be able to buy it in a kit. I can’t wait to see how your garden grows!

  • I have a backyard with great access to the sun. This year we are attempting to grow a couple tomato plants.

  • Jennifer @ The Quirky Momma

I really want to plant a salad and herb garden this year. I like the super raised beds, the ones that are a few feet in the air.

  • I would love to do this .growing fresh vegetables is at the top of my list this yr

  • Now that is totally awesome! I love it!! Actually I need to plant some lettuce I think in our table beds Cory built last year. Would love to make some fresh home grown salads!

  • I have that same planter. I’m using mine for tomatoes and bell peppers 🙂

  • Good for you, growing things is not my specialty.

  • I’d love to grow my own salad garden.

  • I almost bought that garden kit at Home Depot!

  • Great post! I love your garden.

  • I miss having a garden this year. We did start a lettuce container though so looks like we’ll both enjoy salad.

A local family photographer, Jane Goodrich, recently traveled to my home for a fun afternoon of photographing my children and their cousins. It was the first time we had a professional photographer shoot our children, and we not only had a great time with Jane, but we now have some beautiful photos to decorate the […]
