Finding the Hottest Toys of the Season {Guest Post}

Every holiday season has at least one toy that every kid swears they must have. It can be impossible to get this item what with month-long waiting lists and parents actually fighting over the last toy. This is the reason why so many parents have started looking for alternative ways to purchase the toys that […]

  • Wonderful tips! I’m normally scared to order online around the holidays because of so many credit card thieves, so I usually just stick to ordering from Amazon – I haven’t had any problems with them yet. 🙂

  • Pre-ordering is a great tip. I know there was one year that by the time I figured out what the hot toy was….they were all gone 🙁

  • Donna

I order about 75% of my holiday shopping online… it’s just so much easier and I can avoid the crowds. 🙂

  • I know every kid yearns for the hottest toys, but I prefer to wait until the summer (near their birthdays) when the prices go down a bit.

  • Mellisa

Great tips! I often find that when I buy toys online I get better deals.

Letters To My Sons {October 2013}

To my dear munchkins, I’m so proud of you both…learning new things, having fun together, and impressing me all the time. Little man, you are doing so well in school…writing your name, learning direction and days of the week and the senses, and amaze me with how smart you are! You love going to school, […]

  • My preschooler is learning all the same things in school, too. I honestly don’t think I was nearly half as smart as she is at this age. Love these letters. Such a great way to document the little things.

  • That is so sweet. I love their pictures.

  • Aww sweet letter as always. Doesn’t just amaze you the things they pick up. Like turning on a phone and finding apps, crazy! Is Greek taught in all schools there?

  • Penelope

No…all schools require spanish only, but now better schools are also requiring a third language, like Italian, French, Latin, or Greek, because not everyone wants to only learn just Spanish, and outside of the US, most people are multilingual 🙂

I love that he will learn Greek too, but I wish I could have picked Greek as primary, and then Italian or Chinese as his secondary language, and skipped Spanish altogether. I think that will help him more in his future, but unfortunately, Spanish is required across the board.

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

Your letters are so sweet and will mean so much to them when they get older.

  • Isn’t it amazing how good the little ones are with tablets and phones? Nick is a whiz with mine. He doesn’t need any help at all.

  • There are some traits as kids that annoy us as parents that we know will come in handing one day (like never saying no). So glad your son is doing well in school it makes our job a little easier.

  • It is so fun when they are little and there are so many firsts. I loved watching the wonder in my boys eyes when they were younger and learned something new. It comes less frequently now, but is still just as fun to see.

  • You have such adorable little boys.

  • They are truly some of the most beautiful boys … and my baby can use my phone to access “his” apps too. CRAZY.

  • Man, they definitely look like brothers!! How cool that Little Man is learning Greek & the flute- that’s crazy!

  • How awesome that your older son is learning Greek! And it’s great that your younger one will stand up for himself. I bet that will be great for him later in life too.

  • This series is just too sweet. I am amazed by what your son is already learning in school.

  • I love these updates you leave for your little guys. They may roll their eyes in the teen/preteen years, but it will mean much to them in the long run.

  • They sure do look like clones of each other. So cute.

  • Wow your son is learning so much in his school, I didn’t start to learn an instrument until I was in junior high.

  • Yay for school and bath! Sweet T doesn’t care for either. LOL.

  • Angela S

You have two beautiful boys. This is such a sweet post.

  • Your boys are so adorable and they are getting so big! I love that they have each other – that’s something my daughter is missing being an old child!

  • So very sweet.

  • What a sweet post! An, your boys are so adorable!

  • It’s amazing how much and how quickly the baby picks up from the older sibling. I also have an adventurous, strong willed baby. I don’t think they realize they’re the baby and they need to stay little just a while longer.

  • Such a sweet post. I need to start writing these to my teen.

  • Jennifer @ The Quirky Momma

Motherhood truly is a blessing. I can’t believe I have the beautiful children I do have! You have beautiful children!

  • They sound like such good boys. I know my youngest can’t wait to go to school. Your school sounds awesome! Is it private?

  • So sweet I love this! It will be great for them to later read back over what you said to see what they were up to, and the love and support you have for them!!

  • Penelope

    Yes, it’s a parochial school 🙂

  • Nice! I so wish we could afford to put our kids anywhere but public schools

  • Time flies by so fast, I remember when your oldest was born, and now he’s in preschool and ready to learn to play the flute…Wow!

  • What a sweet letter! 🙂

  • Penelope

    Oh my gosh, I know!

  • Isn’t it great watching each child develop their own individual personality? Both of your boys are adorable!

  • Donna

What handsome boys you have, Penelope. And I so love reading your letters and getting a little insight to your sons…

  • Are you kidding me with the iPhone? That’s crazy that he can work it with ease like that. I like his toughness too.

  • Such a sweet letter. I can’t believe your oldest will be learning Greek and learning to play the flute. How neat.

  • M knows how to use the iPad better than me. 🙂 Gosh they get so big so quick! Do you mind me asking what you used to edit your photos? (if you did) they’re amazing!

  • Mellisa

I hope you turn these into a book one day so that your’s sons will be able to cherish these thoughts.

  • Angela S

I cannot get over the fact that your son can use your iPhone. He’s quite a little genius!

  • Penelope

What a wonderful idea! Thank you!

  • It sounds like he is off to a great start. You are doing a great job with your boys!

  • That is beautiful! My youngest imitates his siblings too. I love watching my kids grow up and noticing their special and unique differences.
