A Tale Of Two Kiddies

My first son rarely pooped. He could go a week or so without pooping, and it was a dream for us. My parents were convinced something was wrong with him and he needed medical care, or at least laxatives, but our pediatrician assured us it was normal, especially in breast fed babies. Kids are all […]

  • Hmm, I can’t think of one off the top of my head but it has been quite sometime. Your son looks like he could be quite the rascal!

  • Donna

There were definitely some messy diaper incidents when my son was a baby, but the thing that comes to mind most is my son pooping in the bathtub. 🙂

  • I guess mine were just normal. There was always the occasional explosive one, but rare. 🙂

  • This post made me laugh until the tears were coming.

When our first was born my husband was very hesitant and timid to change her diaper. I kept encouraging him and once said, “Come on it’s just a pee. Change her.” He did. W-e-l-l…she wasn’t done. She had some explosive poops too and this time she seemed to just keep going and going. My poor husband didn’t know what to do and all I could do was stand at the doorway and laugh and go fetch the camera. It’s one of the funniest memories for me. I am sure my husband would DISagree. 😉

  • Oh well, Gavyn my stubborn boy. Refused and I mean refused to poop on the potty. He was a spring/summer potty trainer so we’d go outside and play. He would pull down his pants, sit in the yard, or driveway, or sidewalk or anywhere and poop. UGH. Anywhere as long as it wasn’t the potty. This took a good year. Talk about frustrating!

  • Oh my goodness! I bet that was stressful having constant, explosive poopie diapers. Glad for you all it only lasted six months.

  • My youngest son is the “explosive” type as well due to a very sensitive stomach. Sometimes its just plain awful and I never thought I would be able to get him to poop in the potty but we’ve been working off and on on training and he’s doing REALLY well! I will be happy once the diapers/training pants are COMPLETELY gone though.

  • I remember when my daughter was a little girl she use to always take off her diaper and poop would be everywhere. Luckily those days are now gone lol.

  • Both our girls were breast fed and had very similar daily pooping habits. They did have times when they’d explode up the back or out the sides. For us it was partially the diaper brand that was the problem. We eventually found one that held even the worst poopies in. I can’t imagine having a twice a week pooper. That would worry me too much. That gets all packed in their colon and causes distension and later hemorrhoids.

  • My three kids are all fairly close in age and I had two in diapers on more than one occasion. There was even a time I was pregnant while having to be on double diaper duty, and I was infamous for gagging and getting sick during changes! Those were the days.

Sidenote: Only moms can laugh and bond over poop stories!

  • I remember when my son was a toddler he was at one of those play centers and pooped while he was in a tunnel. LOL It didn’t come out of his diaper but man oh man, was the stink trapped in there!

  • lol Awww I have a few funny stories of my own to tell and after 4 kids and changing so many more I could probably write a book

  • Your picture says it all. I have many explosive tales to tell.

  • LOL == yeah, ours were all poopers. They still are. I WISH they only went twice a week!

  • My first son went multiple times a day, but not massive blowouts like those- we had a few of those & boy were they memorable. This new little guy seems to go almost exactly every 48 hours, but we’ll see how long that lasts.

  • They are lucky we have selective parental memory…lol

  • I went to my youngest daughters’ 2 year well child check appointment last week and commented to the pediatrician how much things change between baby one and two. With your first you have so many questions about what’s normal and with your second, you know there’s such a huge range for normal.

  • Just a time or two when I got a shower I didn’t intend to take LOL.

  • I don’t have many diaper stories, other than the boys using their diapers as paint during nap times a few times. lol

  • Raijean

I agree, the cute ones are always the most trouble…sigh

Theit Camera Bag Review

Still on the hunt for the perfect camera bag for women, I recently tried Theit Camera bag (the name is a play on words- it’s The “It” bag). It has a unique look for women looking for a pretty camera bag, and doesn’t look like it carries expensive camera gear (one of my requirements for […]

  • I love the look of this bag. I really want a camera bag that’s not as bulky as the one that came with my camera.. Too bad about the chain, I’m 5’2″ so it would be really long on me.

  • Oh I love this camera bag, would be perfect for me when on the go with the kids! Thanks for sharing it.

  • I recently got a DSLR camera and I was looking for a bag that would protect it good and look cute!! I love the quilted look of the bag too, I have a purse that is very similar. I wish it had more padding because I would be all over this bag!

  • I love this, it is a really chic bag and not too bulky. So many camera bags are huge with a ton of room for all sorts of other things. I just need something big enough for my camera.

  • I had to do a double take when I saw the name of this camera bag. Just scrolling through the articles I saw it out of the corner of my eye and saw “Theft” bag instead of Theit. Kind of puts a person off when that’s what they want you to put your extremely expensive photography equipment inside.

  • That is one stylish camera bag it looks like a stylish purse.

  • Total cuteness! I just purchased a brand new camera and this would be perfect to store it in, thanks!

  • Um — yeah … the no padding thing would keep me away from it. I have paid too much money in my equipment to not make sure it’s well protected. Thanks for the review, Penelope.

  • I really like the look of this camera bag, but the lack of padding is what gets me. Hopefully, they’ll invest in creating padding for their camera bags in the future. 🙂

  • Penelope

Lol 🙂 It’s “The IT bag, shortened to theit, but it does look like theft when looked at quickly- and I wouldn’t want that to happen to my camera bag either!

  • Love the look of this bag, but what a bummer about the lack of padding! Especially for that price I would expect it to protect my camera.

  • That is such a pretty bag! I need something more stylish! It is quilted which makes it stand out.

  • Mickey

I love the look of it, but don’t know if it would hold all of my stuff. I’ll check it out!

  • Looks like an amazing bag. I love good camera bags.

  • This is cute. Too bad about the strap (I’m 5’3) and the lack of padding.

  • That bag is adorable! One thing that makes a bag a ‘camera’ bag is the padding so I’m sad to hear it didn’t have any of that. Thanks for sharing that point as that’s a HUGE factor in dishing out cash for a camera bag.

  • My sister has been searching for the perfect camera bag as well. I know she’d love the style of this one, and since she’s 5’9 the long chain wouldn’t be an issue, but lack of padding may be a bit too risky for her liking.

  • Raijean

This bag is amazing! It looks like a designer bag.

  • Donna

I need a camera to put in this pretty camera bag in. 🙂 It is a nice looking bad!

  • Too bad about the padding. I would think it would need something to protect the camera from juggling around. It is very stylish though!

  • I think it’s awfully strange that a camera bag would not offer any type of padding protection for the contents inside. It’s a shame because it is a nice-looking bag.

  • I would agree about the padding. I would throw my travel point and shoot in there and use the bag as a purse, but for the expensive stuff, it wouldn’t be practical. It’s really pretty though!

  • This is a really nice, stylish camera bag. I’d love to have one for my camera.

  • Okay I really like the look of that bag! I need to check out their site.

  • The padding would probably be a deal breaker for me. Without it, I could just use any large bag to plop my camera into. Being roomy is definitely a perk though.

Do More Knowing Your Child Is Safe (Baby Monitor Giveaway)

In a house with multiple floors, I can’t always be near my sons. They are usually in their bedroom or the family room playing while I’m doing chores, and since I can’t be omnipresent, I need eyes to tell me when my boys are waking from a nap, or getting into trouble. For this reason, […]
