I had braces as a kid, courtesy of a Manhattan orthodontist that used colored rubberbands on my braces to match the holidays (red and green for Christmas, pink and white for Valentine’s Day). Back then, clear braces weren’t around much yet. My husband also wore braces for years, and today we both have perfectly straight teeth, which is a very good thing since we have so much to smile about.
My mother in law mentioned that our son will likely need braces one day like we did. My son has a mouth full of perfect teeth that are so adorable, but they are his baby teeth. It’s very likely he’ll need braces on his teeth one day too, based on family genetics, but if his teeth stay exactly as they are I would love it. (He may not like it, but I would.) Check out his 1000 watt grin:

Today there are great advancements in orthodontics, such as invisible braces, and orthodontist specialists (for example pediatric orthodontist), so little man will probably have a much easier time if he does get braces. When I was little, I was tinsel teeth. With clear braces or braces behind the teeth, no one will ever even have to know he has braces.

Such a cute smile!
My boys have pretty neat smiles and pretty straight teeth. They get that courtesy of their dad however. He has the straightest teeth and has never worn braces. Me, not so lucky.
I love invisible braces. Perhaps one of the best medical inventions next to the epidural LOL
Seriously though, they save kids so much grief and embarrassment. And I bet their cheeks don’t get all cut up on the inside with invisible braces either.
I never had braces, my husband did. We had one who didn’t need them, and one who did. The one who did now has absolutely gorgeous teeth (as does the older 🙂 )
Beautiful smile! It’s amazing how orthodontics has advanced.
An adorable smile! Our daughter will likely need braces soon. I remember a friend in school having braces with colored rubber bands! I’m glad my daughter won’t have to deal with that when she has to have them!
