Shrek remarries under the radar
I read today that Mike Myers (Austin Powers and Shrek) secretly married his long-time girlfriend here in New York about five months ago. I didn’t realize he was divorced. He and his (evidently) ex-wife were married 12 years and seemed very happy and affectionate, but things fell apart, they divorced in 2006, and he has been seeing his now-bride ever since. Boy, those Hollywood types!
Myers new wife is Kelly Tisdale. I’ve always been a fan of this funnyman, and while it’s good news he is happily remarried, I’m a little sad to hear things didn’t work out with Robin Ruzan. Ah well.
Wow — I didn’t realize they had divorced either. I know it must be hard to live that “star” lifestyle and be married, but I wish they would put more effort into making their marriages work . . . .there are those Hollywood coupled that make it work and have been married 30+ years. Maybe they need to start a mentoring program for others.
I was thinking the same thing this morning – when did this happen?! It’s so unfortunate that Hollywood marriages rarely last.

The Hollywood marriages never seem to last…even the ones we think will. It is amazing, though, that he was able to “secretly” marry someone. How often does that happen?

It always saddens me when I hear about anyone getting divorced, but obviously the strains of being in the spotlight seem to make it an even bigger battle to stay married. I really have to say though, that I’m glad he didn’t ‘flaunt’ it, like so many of the stars do, or make a big production of it. Since he flew under the radar that meant he was being ‘somewhat circumspect’ and I have to say I admire that.

I knew he was divorced, but I had no idea he was dating someone and now married? Wow.
I was surprised that he was divorced as well, but I was mostly impressed on how skilled he is at keeping his life private. Proof that it can be done in Hollywood I guess.
