Big Idea has some pretty great news to share. In addition to coming out with their first new Easter-themed DVD in seven years, they are also premiering the new VeggieTales website today at VeggieTales.com. Lots to look forward to this month for fans everywhere.
If your kids love Veggie Tales, they will love the new site, which is filled with lots of games, videos, is interactive, and animated. They can create eCards, read stories, and shop. The graphics are awesome, and because it’s VeggieTales (a faith-based shows for kids) you can rest assured that the content will not worry you. ‘Twas The Night Before Easter is the tale of a misguided but well-meaning Marlee Meade who decides to pass up on the opportunity to help a homeless shelter because she feels that what will really help people is culture. By way of theater. With a show called “Up With Bunnies”. Yeah, I’m not sure what she was thinking either.
Nevertheless, Marlee gets a little wacky trying to ensure her opening night is a success, from lying all the way to kidnapping. A new character, Cassie Cassava—voiced by American Idol top finalist Melinda Doolittle- is the target of Marlee scheming because of her beautiful, audience-drawing voice. Will Marlee learn how to really help people? Will she understand the meaning of Easter? Of course she will, it’s a faith-based movie meant to teach young ones that even when you make mistakes, you can fix things if you put others and the important things in life first. Along the way, your kids get to enjoy a new silly song and backstage interviews featuring Larry the Cucumber on the “VeggieTales Live!” tour.
