We have a new home, and we needed new furniture, and the better part of the last year involved a hunt for pieces that would fit our lives. Since I work from home, I have an office specifically for my work, and I wanted to create a space that was set up to make it easy and enjoyable for me to work from home. I needed a good office desk, with drawers to keep me organized and a large desktop to fit my paperwork and laptop, and I also needed something to hold my printers.
Sauder furniture provides versatile furniture options on an easy to navigate site that categorizes their products based on your specific search criteria- from room to price, it’s easy to narrow down and find what you need. Their products are available in a variety of finishes, and made from engineered wood. It’s very affordable, and requires a DIY spirit (which I have), because you have to pretty much put it all together yourself (but no power tools needed).

I chose two pieces of Sauder furniture for my office…a TV stand that I knew would be perfect to hold my printers (which were previously laying on the floor), and a new desk to replace my previous, unfinished desk with a broken drawer. I chose a desk in Jamocha espresso since I love the look of dark wood. Assembly was definitely easy, as I didn’t require anything past a screw driver and a hammer. The TV stand/table now holds up my printers so I can reach them to use without sitting on the floor, and the shelf underneath holds printer paper and my camera recharger, so it’s a very versatile piece that can be used for many things.

The Camarin computer desk has a much larger top area than my last office desk, so I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to upgrade to an iMac and still have plenty of room for all my paperwork and crafts that are usually strewn across the top. I also like the pencil drawer so I can store a few things that I need constantly…I’m definitely someone who likes a lot of storage space. There is a drawer designed to put files in, which I plan to use, but for now I love having it as an extra roomy drawer for larger items like my hole puncher and camera supplies.
