Keeping L’il Critters Healthy

It seems children get sick way too often, and between going to school, taking lessons with other children, play dates and parties, and even general exposure to the outdoors (door knobs, shopping cart handles, etc), it is not hard to see why.

That doesn’t make seeing my son sniffle and sneeze any easier, so I try to prevent my sons ever getting sick as best I can. There are definitely precautions we as parents can take to minimize our children getting sick, and maximize their health. So what do we do here in the Guzman house?

How We Keep Our L’il Critters Healthy

  • Provide healthy, immunity boosting snacks for children, like citrus fruit and raw cut veggies. We try to feed our sons healthy meals and snacks loaded with antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals.
  • Encourage naps and sleep. Children who are well rested are generally healthier and have stronger immune systems- tired bodies aren’t as efficient at fighting off germs.
  • Promote lots of hand washing and good hygiene, and teach children not to share straws and other items. My sons tend to share drinks (sippies, teething toys, etc) and generally, this is when they usually became sick. I had to watch them like a hawk when they were playing in groups or at the park, and regularly wash their cups and toys.
  • Allow children to get lots of fresh air and outdoor exercise. Exercise promotes a healthier body, especially when you are outdoors in the sun, breathing in delicious, healthy fresh air- kids need this!
  • Take vitamins, such as L’il Critters gummy vitamins, to supplement a healthy diet. If your child isn’t getting everything from their food, a tasty gummy vitamin can help out.

Generally, as long as we follow these steps, we have super healthy boys, who are also super happy. What do you do to keep your children healthy throughout the day, while playing with other children and in school?
