I would ask for a computer tuneup for my very slow desktop.
I need to figure out why my DVD burner doesn’t work.
On my desktop I need to figure out how to connect it to the internet (I have the software and hardware but I’m computer-stupid). On my laptop I need to know why it doesn’t work when I put in CDs or DVDs. It’s only about 7 months old and it doesn’t work, but since it’s the only way I have to access the internet, I don’t want to send it back for repair.

Two maddeningly slow desktops with Windows XP. So many “processes” run at startup, we don’t know what they mean or what we could safely delete. When we run a registry cleaner, we don’t know what is safe to delete. Despite having McAfee and Norton and AVG and Windows Defender, scans keep saying we have “no virus protection installed”!!! Free trial version of Trend Micro blocks nearly every link from emails, saying “confirmed association with malware or malicious script.” Both bought used, and seem to have partial remnants of programs we don’t use, but again, we don’t know FOR SURE what is safe to delete! And we can’t afford to pay for help, we are seniors on very small income!
