Have you ever scratched your head over something on your computer or gadget, wondering why something wasn’t working as you expected, but not knowing how to fix it, or where to find the info to even try? Me too. I couldn’t figure out how to transfer photos at their original resolution, why I couldn’t get my printer to scan things at the right size, and a bunch of other questions, and usually just threw my hands up in the air and gave up.
Apparently there is help out there, folks who have the answers, and can help you finally “get” your gadgets (you spent all that money for something, make those contraptions work for you!).
Geek Squad is a subscription service that helps those among us who are utterly lost, answering questions about your computer, tech gadgets, and even home appliances. They have a self help section of video tutorials that go through a variety of things (like using LightRoom 4 and how to block spyware on your computer), as well as satellite diagnostic and repair service.
I had a lot of questions about my computer. Apparently I have an old model (how did that happen so quick, technology becomes obsolete too fast!) but the second time I called, I spoke to someone named Randall who was able to help me anyway, by checking on why my computer was running slowly. He ran a tune-up and let me know I didn’t have anything malicious on my computer, but quite a few of my programs needed to be updated to keep things running optimally and quickly. I also asked him a few other questions about things that I couldn’t figure out, and he was helpful and friendly.

I am SO lucky that my husband is my geek squad. When it comes to computers and gadgets he’s amazing. It’s saved me a lot of headaches and lost information. I love that man!
I’m thinking about giving them a call this weekend, because I can’t get my wireless router to work for the life of me! ~lol~
I’m pretty sure my laptop would be considered a dinosaur the way technology changes. So cool that there is a subscription service.

My husband is really techy & so he’s usually able to fix whatever breaks, but we need to start referring our friends & family to the Geek Squad so they leave my husband alone & stop asking him to fix everything! 🙂
