The warm weather is here, and it’s time to bare! Spring dresses, cute shorts, sexy camisoles, and especially bikinis will expose your skin to the sun (not to mention the scrutiny of others), so it’s important to get it looking fabulous while keeping it healthy. If you are looking for tips on how to you get your pale, dry skin ready for the spring so you can feel confident, read on!
Tips For Prepping Your Skin For The Spring
1. Get your skin smooth and soft by exfoliating that dry, flaky skin away and moisturizing daily with a rich lotion. Slather lotion on your feet at bedtime and put on some socks to lock it in so you wake up with super soft tootsies in the morning, ready to bare in a pretty pair of sandals.

2. Keep your hair smooth and silky with weekly conditioning treatments to fight the summer sun’s drying effects (olive oil works great too), and use the cool shot when you dry your hair to keep it from frizzing up in the humid weather.
3. Cut back on the makeup. The summer sun usually gives our skin a healthy glow, so less makeup is needed- a good thing, since makeup may melt on your face anyway in the warmer weather. Switch to waterproof makeup so you look polished and pretty even if you perspire or get caught in a gentle spring drizzle.
4. Dust on a bit of facial powder or use oil blotting sheets to keep your face dry and shine-free without ruining your make-up.

5. Wear a facial moisturizer with sunscreen to keep your skin healthy and young looking while preventing burns and freckling. During the summer months, avoid retinol products and anything with alpha-hydroxy, because you’ll be more susceptible to burning your fragile skin and having serious side effects (the sun tends to clear skin up quite a bit anyway for many lucky folk).
6. Sleep on satin pillow cases. They feel much cooler, don’t contribute to wrinkles, and will keep your hair from getting knotty or damaged while you sleep. Satin pillow cases are better for your hair and skin, and just feels great to lie on.
7. Use an effective deodorant like Dove Clear Tone Deodorant to stay confident and cool. Dove Clear Tone Deodorant not only provides 24-hour odor and wetness protection, it also reduces underarm red and dark marks caused by shaving, so you’ll feel confident wearing tank tops and sleeveless clothes. It also cares for delicate underarm skin with Dove ¼ moisturizers so you can feel confident to bare your skin for spring!

Dove Clear Tone Deodorant is available in a 24 hour formula (all day odor and wetness protection) and in a prescription strength Clinical Protection formula. Both are made with calendula and sunflower extracts, both last all day, and both help accelerate the natural skin renewal processes while moisturizing, for visibly reduced dark marks and even tone to the skin. They smell terrific– refreshing and light, didn’t dry my skin despite being very effective, and I especially love the Clinical Protection formula- it’s easy to dispense (measure out by clicks), creamy and moisturizing, and I can’t emphasize how fabulous it smells… love it!
As part of the DailyBuzz Style Program, I received free Clear Tone Deodorant and a stipend from Dove. However, my opinions are entirely my own.
