Spicy Homemade Salsa For Your Football Watching Party

This is a sponsored post by Hunt’s® tomatoes. All opinions are my own.

The Big Game is this Sunday, February 5th, less than a week away! Football fans everywhere have marked their calendars and made plans to watch on the biggest screen they can find, and we’re planning to watch too. If you’re hosting a homegating party this year, make sure you have some great nosh to enjoy with your friends while you cheer on your team.

During the game, we love to have friends over. We host indoor parties (because let’s face it, it’s cold outside) so focus on serving a medley of simple appetizers and easy to grab-and-eat foods that don’t require utensils, because everyone is usually on their feet cheering or booing the whole game.

I love to serve the people I love yummy and homemade foods, so I decided for this year’s football party, instead of buying jars of dipping options, I will make a delectably Spicy Homemade Salsa to go with all those chips and wraps we’ll be servings our Game Day guests.

It’s incredibly tasty on and in everything, so I’m sharing my recipe to help spice up your game day party too!

1/4 chopped red onion
1/2 jalapeno
1/4 bell pepper
1/4 orange pepper
1/3 cup cilantro – not chopped
1 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
pepper to taste

1. Add all the ingredients to a blender in order listed and then pulse until the desired texture is reached (about 5-7 times is ideal).

2. Serve with your favorite chips or nachos and friends

Hunt’s FlashSteam™ difference.

I always choose to serve my family food I can feel good about, which means it should be both delicious and made with ingredients I can believe in. Hunt’s peels all its diced, whole, and stewed tomatoes using steam from simple hot water in a process called FlashSteam™, instead of using chemicals like lye*, so there are no chemical by-products being put back into the earth as a result of their process.

Hunt’s tomato products are all 100% natural and non-GMO, grown in California and picked at the peak of ripeness. They are packaged in non-BPA lined cans with no artificial preservatives, so I’m happy to choose them to make my family meals and party recipes even better.

Celebrate with your own entourage by giving them the tastiest Spicy Homemade Salsa ever, or make it as a hostess gift if you are going to a party!
