A Spontaneous Getaway

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DaytonaBeach.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve been needing a little break, and my best friend suggested a girls getaway. It’s usually difficult to find time we all have off at the same time, and I felt guilty to spend too much on my own trip away from the family, so finding out Daytona Beach offers value-packed getaway vacations for a spontaneous trip- during the week! – I knew I could finally get that little escape I’ve been craving. It’s great for a romantic trip as well, a chance to reconnect with a spouse or partner, but right now I just need some girl talk. Some rest, relaxation, girl talk, so my friends and I know where we are headed.

Daytona Beach

Fun in the Sun

It’s June on the calendar, but here in New York it’s still cloudy and in the 60s. I need sun! Daytona Beach offers countless amenities so while we relax and swim and sun bathe, we’ll have all the comforts we need and so much to do. The idea of just taking a midweek break never occurred to me before, and now I realize how easy it would be and can’t wait to start enjoying some escapes here and there.

Plus, there is so much to do, so if my adventurous side wants to come out and play (and it always does), I know there will be kayaking, canoeing, hiking trails, boating, paddle boarding, surfing, and so much more whenever the mood strikes. After perusing Daytona Beach Weekday Getaway Deals, I realized a dreamy trip to Daytona Beach is within my budget and I can do all the things I want to do during that break! There are also festivals, events, and spectator sports to check out, so it may have to be a repeat destination to do it all.

Top Things To Do in Daytona Beach

After researching the many things to do on our Daytona Beach Girls’ Getaway, I made a list of my top 5 things to do on our first trip… what do you think?

1. Parasailing This is one of those things you always say you’ll do one day, and keep hoping to get to. Well, one day is here, and the idea of sailing 1,000 feet over the Atlantic City is definitely a bucket list item, so this is going to happen.

2. Daytona International Speedway A famous landmark you always hear about, and from what I hear it’s utterly thrilling, so a trip to Daytona Beach is not complete without a visit to Daytona International Speedway to see the home of the Daytona 500 and

3. Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse I’m still debating whether this is a fun, adventure with the girls thing, or a save-for-hubby romantic thing, but the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse looks gorgeous and the view is amazing… I have to go. The Ponce Inlet also has many activities and places to eat, so it’s basically an adventure in itself.

4. Kennedy Space Center and Sea World are both close by, and I haven’t been to either (and want to go to both!) so have this on my must do while at Daytona Beach.

5. The Beach What is the point of going to beautiful Daytona Beach if none of my time is actually spent on their famous beach? I hope to just enjoy the moments and lay out, maybe run around in the surf a little and relax. I can’t wait!

I plan to enjoy many of the dining options, as well as check out some of the many farmer’s markets Daytona Beach has to offer. Danica Patrick shares a little bit more about Daytona Beach here:
