PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend Is November 13-15

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of PetSmart Charities. All opinions are 100% mine.

Love the wagging tails and wet noses of cute little furbabies? It may be the right time to open your home to your forever pet during PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend – this year it’s from November 13-15! The 3 day adoption event is held four times a year, and each weekend event provides an average of more than 15,000 companion pets to their future homes and families. If your home is waiting for the unconditional love of a dog or cat, participating PetSmart stores in North America are ready to help you find the right pet.

PetSmart Charities is an organization of animal lovers committed to ending pet homelessness. They invest in over three thousand animal welfare groups and help more than 400,000 cats and dogs find their forever homes each year through their efforts and events, spanning the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It’s a labor of love to connect cuddly pets with owners waiting to love them!

If you visit your local PetSmart to adopt during PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend, you will find animal welfare organizations, including local humane societies, on-site with adoptable dogs and cats and ready to answer your questions. Each group has its own adoption application policies and fees, so may vary among stores, and staff and volunteers are ready at each location to assist with the adoption process. Fees usually include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchips, etc. PetSmart is happily waiting to help you find your future dog or cat, and enjoy the unconditional love of a family pet.

The Furry Family Member

My son has been asking for a puppy, and if you’ve been thinking about getting a pet for your family as well, it’s the best time. All your questions will be answered, and you will be adopting a pet that has been waiting for a happy home. Contact your local PetSmart with questions about the exact time of the events, and any questions about the availability of specific types of pets you may be interested in. You can find your nearest PetSmart by visiting the PetSmart Store Locator, and you can find out about the availability of a specific adoptable pet by visiting Find A Pet.

Aren’t the best “furever” friends really our pets? My husband grew up with an adopted cat that slept on his bed, and his mom would tell me how much he’d love it and cuddle it while watching tv or reading a book, and I always loved our dog growing up, so now I just have to decide: dog or cat? My sons want a dog, and while I was leaning toward a cat (always wanted a little house cat for a companion), memories of our family dog stay with me so I have a feeling I’ll end up getting them what I know will be a loving and loyal best friend- a dog to join them on our future adventures!
