I Dance While I Dust + A $50 Amex Gift Card Giveaway #ThisIsHowIClean

When I get busy, there is one chore that I perpetually let go to the wayside…dusting. I don’t find it particularly fun, especially when it’s warmer and the idea of creating a cloud of dust with my old feather duster on a humid day yucks me out.

Then I’d be preparing to have guests over, and I’d be keenly aware that there is a layer of dust on our mantle, or a cobweb in the corners of a room, and the idea of having company see that makes me feel much worse than dusting ever did.

I’m just not a fan of dusting, and I would imagine I’m not the only person ever to feel this way. I just needed motivation though, because it had to be done, so I thought of ways to make it both easier and more fun. If you typically find dusting as unthrilling as I do, then read on…these tips may help you too!

Make Dusting Fun

1. First, clear away the clutter. The worst part of dusting is all the stuff that is in the way, collecting all that dust. Get rid of the clutter, the knick knacks, the books you left in the corner and forget to put way, and the unfilled picture frames. If it’s not useful or beautiful, just get rid of it. There will be less to attract dust, less for you to have to dust and move out of the way to dust underneath, and your overall atmosphere will be less cluttered and more serene. Stuff weighs you down, and attracts yucky dust, so if you hate dusting, less is more.

2. Put on some music…and I don’t just mean relaxing, classical music. Dusting isn’t stressful, it’s boring. Put on the type of music that makes you want to dance around and shake your booty, so while you dust you get a little energy rush, burn some calories, and find yourself singing and in a great mood. Everything is more fun with music!

3. Use Clorox® Triple Action Dust Wipes to make dusting easier, so you can finally store (or give) away that dusty feather duster that really just moves dust around or stores it. Clorox Triple Action Dust Wipes are an all in one product that clean furniture, electronics and even blinds (I have both traditional and cellular blinds and nothing else does a good job for me). These wipes have an interlocking weave and a sort of coating that grabs and holds on to dust and hair like a magnet, and even certain allergens like pet dander and dust mites. I use them on my baseboards and blinds, two places I notice a lot of dust, and it cleans them up like a champ…then I get to toss all that gross dust out, instead of having to shake it in the air outside my home and home none flies back onto me. Way easier way to dust!

So those are my tips…less clutter on surfaces, a single dust wipe that does it all, and music to get me energized. Easy and fun!
