Google Photos App Transforms Times Square Into An Interactive Pumpkins Patch

This is a sponsored post.

Taking pictures has become a hobby for many, and we use anything we can to capture the perfect shot- including and especially our smart phones. Phones are often more photo storage and photo editor than an actual phone, and all those images can get pretty disorganized pretty fast. We need a single photo app that simply and beautifully stores, catalogs, and edits pictures, all in one. And now, with Google Photos app, anyone can do all that, with a single free app.

Google Photos wanted to spread the word about what is probably the best new photo app, so recently took over Times Square and transformed it into an interactive Pumpkin Patch…the perfect opportunity to take a lot of fun pics!

Google Photos Transforms Times Square!

Google Photos is a free app that organizes images by subject, category, any way you choose, and it allows you to edit your images with some great filters. I tested these all out recently, because an outdoor interactive Pumpkin Patch at Times Square and Halloween are two very photographable events.

I want our pictures to be more fun, so I downloaded the Google Photos app to try out before I made plans to visit the Times Square Google Photos App Pumpkin Patch Event on October 29th to make sure I was able to navigate it, and immediately loved how it catalogued my images. Everything is so easy to find and search for. Of course I started testing out the filters and editing options right away, and found them incredibly intuitive. Everything was easy to use and just made sense.

Easily Find & Share Images

When I first opened up Google Apps, I used the search feature under “people” and found an old image of my son with his Halloween face. Google Photos automatically recognizes which images are people, things, videos, etc and organizes them for you so you can search by any method. So happy I did, because I totally forgot when we did this and my son got such a kick out of seeing that superhero painted face again! I used the Triton filter (Triton became an instant favorite) and shared it on instagram, all throught my Google Photos app:

Creat .Gifs in Seconds

You can also select your own categories and albums, a movie or story, collages, and Google Photos App lets you edit your images beautifully, without destroying the image quality and resolution. It even allows you to create gifs in seconds, so of course I had to do that, and created my first gif ever using “Animation” and some cell phone images of my costumed son fighting evil doers:

I’ve since created a bunch of gifs, because it’s a little addictive, especially when it’s so easy!

An Interactive Pumpkin Patch in NYC

While I was at the Google Photos Pumpkin Patch, I visited a photo booth station and my image was displayed on a large billboard in Times Square, and a bunch of people attending even had their image carved onto pumpkins by pumpkin carving robots. It’s a very cool thing to see your image 25 feet high on a building or carved onto a pumpkin, so locals had a blast!

Visitors (and there were thousands) were able to pick their perfect pumpkins to take home with them, from big to small and even vibrantly colored pumpkins. There was a live band that played music, and games with food prizes (tasty donuts and cider). A fun time, and passersby were loving it, taking pics, and calling their friends to join. New York City had a great time in Times Square, thanks to Google Photos, and now you can have a great photo library thanks to Google Photos too (these are catalogued under “Pumpkin Patch” in my Google Photos app):
