This is a partnered guest post with Fresh Flowers
Valentine’s Day is approaching and I have a few things on my wish list. Hopefully my significant other will be reading this, but if he isn’t then perhaps I will have to drop a few hints. Here are a few of the treats that I would love to receive this Valentine’s Day:
A Delicious Home Cooked Meal
My boyfriend is a great cook and I love the meals he makes for me, so on Valentine’s Day if he surprised me with a tasty home cooked meal I would absolutely love it! Guys, if you can cook then making a meal for your girlfriend is more personal than going to a fancy restaurant and much more affordable! However, if the only thing you can make is instant noodles, there’s certainly nothing wrong with taking her out for a nice meal at her favourite place to dine.
A Spa Certificate
I would really love the chance to spend a day at the spa and really pamper myself. I have been working hard lately and although I can usually take care of myself, it’s very nice to have a day where someone else takes care of you. I would love a relaxing hot oil massage, a nice pedicure and manicure and perhaps even a rejuvenating facial. A day at the spa would leave me feeling relaxed and give me a gorgeous glow, so this is definitely high on my list.
Fresh Flowers
If you think that giving a girl flowers on Valentine’s Day is too cliché and cheesy and should be avoided, you should think again. Of course, it’s a little cheesy – but that’s what romance is about! Every girl feels special when she receives a huge bouquet of beautiful flowers, especially if they are delivered to her home or her work! It’s a beautiful gesture and having the colourful and sweet smelling flowers around will make her feel special whenever she looks at them.
I would love to receive a gift of flowers from my special someone for Valentine’s Day. You can find my favorite Valentine’s Day flowers here, the perfect surprise for a romantic day.
A New Book
As well as pampering my body with the spa certificate, I would love a gift that also pampers my mind. I love to read and curling up on the sofa with a great book is a true pleasure. If you are reading this and your sweetheart is a bookworm, you can bet that she would love a new book for Valentine’s Day too. Perhaps something romantic or sexy, to go with the theme of this special day?
If you want to find out what books she is interested in, take her browsing in the bookstore next time you are out shopping. Pay close attention to the books that she picks up and starts looking at – if she looks particularly interested in one of them or remarks that she would like to read it, you can sneakily buy it the next chance you get.
If your girl isn’t really into reading, the key is to find a gift that reflects her personal interests. If she loves sport, you can treat her to tickets for an upcoming game of her favourite team. If she loves nature, promise to take her on a hike in a nearby wildlife sanctuary. If it’s thoughtful and reflects her interests – she will love it!
Of course, the one thing that I and every girl really want for Valentine’s Day is for our sweethearts to show that they care. I know you might think it’s a cheesy holiday (and it is) but romantic gestures are always nice and can make you feel like the most important person in the world – so they are always appreciated.

Mmm… spa day. I need to put that on my wish list for my husband. It’s been months since I’ve had anything even approaching pampering!
I have to say that I would love all four of the above items!!
Of this list I would so go for the spa day. I always buy my own books and I would prefer a nice brought in meal than home cooked, but all good choices.
That list is pretty similar to mine! We don’t really do gifts for Valentine’s Day but those are some things I would really enjoy.
I would love a new book, my hubby sometimes surprises me with new books and I am thrilled!
Oooh, I’d love a spa certificate as well! A little R&R is always the best gift!
These gift ideas all sound absolutely perfect to me! We will be enjoying a steak dinner at home after the kids are in bed tonight to celebrate early since this is hubs’ day off.
I would love a spa day. I need one bad. Sadly I’ll probably get a sweater instead.
They all sound nice, but I already have more than enough books I haven’t read yet, so I’d skip that one.
I could sure use a spa day and some flowers would be nice too!
I know, I feel the same way…not very romantic either, I’d like that from a friend 🙂
Ooh, it’s been ages since I’ve had a spa day!
The home cooked meal sounds wonderful, if it’s someone who knows how to make more than popcorn. 🙂
Oooh I would have loved a spa certificate too. After my first massage earlier this month, I can’t wait to go back for another.
Now this is a Valentine’s wish list… I would like a home cooked meal as well.
I hope your Valentine’s Day was fabulous …. we spent ours camping. 🙂
I actually got a new book for Valentine’s day and fresh flowers. Two of the best presents. Hope you had wonderful Valentine’s day!
I’d love a clean house, that I didn’t have to clean. It didn’t happen this year, but I’m crossing my fingers for next year LOL!
This year we’ve spent so much money fixing up our home that I was content with not having an actual gift. My husband did figure out how to use the gas fireplace (we didn’t actually know it was gas until last week!) working, so that was a treat LOL!
I got lavender roses 🙂 I kinda love ’em and so hubby always looks for them. We don’t have anyone to watch our boys so he also stopped by a restaurant I loved to pick up dinner for us…what can you do, lol, I have three Valentines <3
That sounds fun! I spent mine with my three menz <3
My husband got me a jacket he knew I’d been wanting. I love #1 the best from your list. 🙂
