Our Pink Pajama Party #SleepPink #BCA

Thirty-five million women (1/3 of the female population in the US) have reached menopause, which is a particularly tumultuous time for most women. It marks finality of some things, beginnings of others, a season of change that makes many women feel emotional. Menopause also marks the age that the risk of breast cancer increases. Nearly 100,000 women between the age of 45 and 64 are diagnosed with breast cancer annually. Two thirds of invasive breast cancers are found in women over the age of 55.

During October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Estroven is inviting women to gather the important females in their lives to help raise funds for breast cancer research by “Sleeping Pink” and throwing pink pajama parties. By simply uploading a photo of your Sleep Pink pajama party to the Sleep Pink facebook page, Estroven will make a $250 donation to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (one photo per party). There is even a SleepPink.com site to provide women with digital tools to help in the organization of Sleep Pink pajama parties, such as downloadable invitations, menopause-friendly recipes, and décor/entertainment ideas. I threw a small pink pajama party with my sister and neighbors:

Menopause has many physical symptoms that make it an especially unenjoyable stage, such as hot flashes and night sweats. Estroven Nighttime helps reduce these symptoms, as well as occasional sleeplessness, so you fall asleep easier and wake up refreshed. It contains naturally acquired ingredients such as soy isoflavones, melatonin, and valerian.

Estroven is supporting the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in an effort to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and prevention. The goal is to provide education while raising awareness of two important women’s issues: menopause and breast cancer. Ready to help? Take a photo of your own Sleep Pink party and upload it so a $250 donation can be made on your behalf in support of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Sleep Pink from the makers of Estroven. The opinions and text are all mine.
