My holiday memories are filled with family gathered around the dining room table, passing food around, laughing and talking. Good food and good company are the recipe for a special holiday meal, and I’m lucky to have lots of great memories. I love to spend time together as a family over the holidays to reconnect and feel close. Time goes so quickly, making it so important to make time for those you love.
My most memorable holiday meal ever was the first Thanksgiving with my new son (who was born on Thanksgiving Day). My family rescheduled Thanksgiving dinner that year so we could attend, and we carved the turkey and ate delicious stuffing while a brand new, two day old person kept us company, and made us feel especially grateful and happy. This year will be the first Christmas I ever spend with both my sons, our complete family, so it will be an especially wonderful holiday meal for my family.
It’s not necessary to celebrate at home to create memories over meals this holiday season, as long as you are with loved ones. I’m not much of a fan of Olive Garden and don’t really care too much for LongHorn anymore, but I certainly love Red Lobster! They have awesome food. 🙂
We love to eat at Olive Garden, the hubs and I go at least once a week on a lunch date for their soup, salad and breadsticks. I, too, love to give gift cards.
