We eat healthy in my home, but unfortunately my little man was never a big eater, regardless of the type of food offered to him. He was an avid nurser, and then went quickly from a chubby infant to a slim, active toddler in the span of a few month.
So how do I ensure that my picky son is eating a healthy and balanced diet? I keep track of what he eats in the course of a week, and make sure that every relevant food group: vegetables, fruits, whole grains, protein and dairy (and lots of each) are included in his overall diet, even if one category doesn’t make it on a daily basis. I keep my fridge stocked with a variety of healthy options, especially the things he’ll usually eat, so if one day he just isn’t in the mood for scrambled eggs, I’ll look for an alternative healthy food that he may like, and each day start the process over. Basically, I make sure my house is stocked with healthy foods, and I try to vary what I offer my son to eat.
Tyson Chicken Nuggets wants to make sure children eat healthy, and at the same time enjoy what they are eating, so in addition to offering Tyson’s 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets (all white meat chicken nuggets that are a tasty finger food for tots who want to feed themselves), they are also hosting a Get A Smile Give A Smile contest to connect to moms and families. From now until March 31st, you can enter your child’s “Nugget Face” along with a caption for a chance to be featured in national magazines and on a Times Square Billboard. Every kid that participates will be featured on an online ‘Wall of Smiles’ and 50 children will be selected to have their picture featured in a special Tyson magazine ad spread and billboard. Ready to give a smile? Tyson is also donating up to 4 million meals to hungry families, matching every package of Tyson Chicken Nuggets bought, to “give a smile” to hungry children.
Thanks to Tyson’s 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets, now you don’t have to choose between making your kids happy and feeding them balanced meals.
But I’m curious, how do you ensure your child maintains a balanced diet? Join the conversation and Tyson will select a winner and donate $500 in the winner’s name to a local food bank!
