Illegals by Darrell Ankarlow

I recently had the opportunity, courtesy of Book Sneeze, to review Illegals: The Unacceptable Cost of America’s Failure to Control Its Borders. I was aware that our country was struggling with the issues surrounding illegal immigrants, but not until I read this book did I realize the strain that some border states are under from […]

Have a Safe Halloween!

According to a nine year study, there are many visits to the ER on Halloween, and one of the top reasons is finger/ hand injuries. Fully 1/3 of these are lacerations. What can you do to prevent some of these injuries?  For starters, don’t let children carve pumpkins. Adults who carve pumpkins should use specially designed […]

Nowadays, it's pretty much a given for children & parents to exercise a good amount of common sense when dealing with holidays such as Halloween.

Which, being honest, is an unusual holiday to begin with. October 31st is nothing more than a whole day dedicated to the devil, if you ask me.

  • JDaniel4's Mom

I hadn't thought about taking a cell phone with us. Thanks for the tip.

  • Annie

Great tips Penelope! Last year was our first year trick or treating but we always go with 2 adults – DH's SIL and her kids. And we always go to a neighborhood we know people live on.

We haven’t decided what we will be doing yet but these are some great tips.

I haven’t decided what or if we will be doing anything this year but these are some great tips.

Great tips! I’d love to host a Halloween party, but with my son’s birthday in Nov., Thanksgiving, Christmas… well, it just seems overwhelming. 🙂

I agree 100% with you. A cruise would be awesome. We went on a Carnival Cruise in August and it was awesome. They are offering a 16 day Transatlantic cruise from Spain to Tx next November. I think that would be cool but 16 days sounds like a long time.

  • GrammyMouseTails

What a dreamy vacation! What I love best is taking your son to show him where his grandparent came from. That would be educational & amazing!
My family loves Cheerios, so I better go check this contest out! Winning a vacation would be a dream come true! ~hugs, Faythe @GMT

  • Sam

Any vacation would be wonderful, as long as it was with my family. I am going to enter 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

  • Tammy

I would ♥ to go to Greece – the sights there must be amazing to see in person.

As for the cruise – we just took a transatlantic crossing in April it was phenomenal, once we crossed the ocean we got to go to ports in Portugal, Gibraltar and Spain. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

  • Lindsey

Wow, I so love your dream vacation! I've never been out of the country but would LOVE to visit Europe. 🙂

  • Lady V dZine

My husband wants to go on a cruise, he has been on them before and loves them. I've never been on one, and am afraid I would be seasick the whole time. This does sound like an awesome vacation, though!

  • NYgal

A Greek Island cruise. What a fabulous trip. And Santorini is my favorite island too.

  • Shop with Me Mama

Our would be either to Disneyland or Hawaii 🙂
