Making A House Our Home {Part I} – Out With The Old

Our home is the place my family spends the majority of our time, where we eat and sleep and play and create memories. It was important to us, after having our second son, to buy a home they could grow up in, with space to grow, run around, and have fun. We decided we were […]

  • Oh I would flip if I found that gorgeous wood flooring beneath ugly rugs!

  • Can’t wait to see your progress!

  • I can’t wait to see the after pictures.

  • Can’t wait to see what happens!

  • Looks like a lot of work, but I’m sure it will be awesome when it’s finished!!

  • How exciting. I wish I had the money and motivation to do some upgrades on my house. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

  • those were some really green carpets. Can’t wait to see the finished products

  • When we bought our house we ripped up the carpets to find hardwoods. Major score. I can’t wait to see how it looks.

  • I can’t believe those gorgeous floors were under that UGLYYYYYY carpet. Why people cover up hardwood is beyond me!!

  • I cannot wait to see your after photos. Though stressful, it is always awesome to see the progress. We had tons of perfectly awesome hardwood flooring hiding when we moved in here. Basically all we have left to do is finish the entire hardwood flooring in the home and the upstairs bath.

  • I can’t wait to see the reveal.

  • What great before shots! I’m so excited to see your afters and since you have great style, I know everything is going to look amazing.

  • Mellisa

I am so glad you found those hardwood floors, those are beautiful. We have hardwood floors and I would never do carpet again.

  • Wow, that is some green carpet! I can’t wait to see how it looks when you are done.

  • I can’t wait to see the after pictures!

  • Oh I cannot wait to see! I CANNOT believe that funky green carpet was hiding those beautiful wood floors!

  • Megan @ That Neat Blog

Can’t wait to see the end result!

  • You all have been working hard. I can’t wait to see the final pics.

  • Lots of work ahead but I bet it’s going to be great!

  • Can’t wait to see the updated pics!

  • I can’t wait to see I bet your tired with all that work but you’ll be so excited once your finished. WE too have beautiful hard wood floors under carpet. We already the carpet when they tore up the old carpet and discovered it. It was a sad day to cover it up

  • Wow, you have some work cut for you!

  • Can’t wait to see the new photos, green carpet? Sorry but it makes me think of a putting green.

  • Looks like a cute home! I can hardly wait to see the after pictures.

  • So excited to see the final product. I never understand why people hide hardwood!

  • Maryann

we had done a ton of renovation to our old home, and it was fun, but time consuming. I’m glad our new home is truly NEW and doesn’t need much done to it.

  • I had no idea you were doing it over to that extent! But it’s all so exciting!

  • Jenn

So much potential! Looking forward to seeing those “After” photos.

  • Mellisa

Wow, you guys have been doing ALOT of work. I can’t wait to see the finished project.

  • You’ve been on this journey for far too long! I can’t wait to see the finished product – it’s going to look amazing! What a fantastic first home!

  • Donna

I wish I had taken more before photos of our home. I’m excited for you… I love updating/renovating homes. If I had the money (and the economy was better), I would love to flip houses. 🙂

  • Billie

I have a ton I still want to do on my house. I’m excited to see the after pictures.

  • I can’t wait to see the photos as you complete your renovations.

  • I can’t wait to see the afters! We have done a lot to our house in the almost three years we’ve been here but we still have a long way to go!

  • Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  • I can not wait until I can see the finish product! I bet it will look amazing though. 🙂 But I am sure you are just ready for it all to be done so you can just live it in! 🙂

  • Maryann

I am so glad we don’t have to remodel this house. We did the last one, but this one is brand spanking new.

  • Alana

    Hi,
This must’ve been a large project ; how did you even begin to decide to do all of this? I’m thinking of renovating too, but I don’t even know where to start. Do you have any tips on which rooms are the best too start with, and was there any method to your madness (or did you just pick a room by random to start with)? Thanks for the help.
    Alana
