Stargazing With My Boys + Resources For Beginners

Raising boys is a daily adventure, and their curiosity and excitement is contagious. They show interest in amazing things I always wanted to learn about and experience as a child, and this time, I can, because I’m doing with with my own children. We are exploring, learning, and having fun together. My husband and I […]

  • Thanks for the wonderful advice! Stargazing has always been one of my favorite hobbies.

  • I appreciate that my parents worked hard to expose my siblings and myself to the world around us when we were young. It created life-long curiosity.

  • Almost every clear night when I get home, I stand outside staring at the stars and locating constellations. It’s so magical! I love the idea of having the right tools to do it better though.

  • I always liked the sky lab days in school, where you crawl in the big balloon type thing and they project the stars on the walls.

  • I love star gazing. I’m thinking about getting a telescope to share with the grandkids.

  • Stargazing can be difficult here in Las Vegas due to all of the harsh lights from the city. Thankfully we live on the outskirts so seeing some great constellations is still a possibility. I would love to explore this further!

A Fun And Kid Friendly Halloween #StreamTeam

Some people think we’re nuts because we don’t watch regular TV around here, but I’ve been a member of Netflix since before I was married, and can’t recall ever having regular tv or cable. When we got married I converted my husband to Netflix, and we’ve been renting Netflix dvds or streaming ever since. This […]

  • We just got NetFlix and can’t wait to check it out.

  • I just got this too and love it for my daughter.

  • This is a great list of kids’ Halloween shows. I’ll have to share them with my grandkids.

  • Although most of us love a good fright when it comes to our Halloween movies, my 5-year-old just isn’t ready. Those are great suggestions for festive films, that won’t keep us up at night.

  • I haven’t seen Casper in ages… I used to love watching him.:)

  • Great list! Casper has always been one of my favorites. I’ll definitely have to check it out on Netflix. As for television, the only time I watch TV is whenever one of my favorite shows (i.e. The Walking Dead, Revenge, and Pretty Little Liars) are on. I have never been much a TV person. 🙂

  • We can’t seem to get enough of Netflix. I love that they seem to have a show or movie that can relate to any holiday or life event.

My First Beauty Staple #GoConfidently

My teen years, like most, were filled with afternoons sitting with friends obsessing over remedies for our beauty woes, like that fine peach fuzz perched on our upper lips that was just too dark for our taste. And if you have brothers, you were particularly aware of all your flaws, because they pointed them all […]

Your Next Favorite Meal + A Chance To Win $100 #TasteOfGroupon

This post brought to you by Groupon. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Penelope’s Oasis. Our family recently had one of the best, adventure filled summers, because of great deals we found on Groupon. Now that the weather is turning cooler, we may venture outdoors less for play, but we still need […]

  • We haven’t used Groupon yet to eat out, and I don’t know why we haven’t! It would be a great way to try out new places in our area at a good price, and I love that they are donating to Feeding America too.

  • Wow, great partnership- Groupon and Feeding America! It’s always tough to eat in a swanky place and not finish your meal when you know some people don’t have any food. Glad we can still help others in some way.

  • I love Groupon. I’ve gotten lots of great deal over the last few years from them.

  • I’m sad I did not see this offer sooner. We love using deal sites like Groupon to try new places in our community and what better time than one that benefits others too.
