We have another month of fall, but it sure doesn’t look that way in New York anymore. It was only last week that my sons were outside playing in the beautiful golden yellow and fiery red leaves that were scattered everywhere like a blanket of late day sun, and this week, the leaves have been cleared. The trees are so bare, the weather is getting colder, and soon, white will cover the grounds.

My sons had a wonderful autumn this year, playing in piles of leaves, and now they are spending more time indoors, where it’s warm and there are lots of fun activities to do (usually silly things they come up with on their own, like Star Wars battles and drawing on their chalkboard easel).

Soon they will have a wonderful winter, sledding and ice skating for the first time- they’ve been asking to do it, so of course I’m now looking into where we can do this. I just have to remember to slow down and enjoy it all, everything in its season.
