Hubby and I went on our first movie date since our first date, which was almost nine years ago. I heard Kirk Cameron just released a limited run inspirational movie called Saving Christmas, only out for two weeks, and I really wanted to see it. We bought tickets online at Fandango.com, called our trusty sitter, and made plans to see it the next day. Within an hour of hearing about the movie, we were all set to go. How incredible is that?

In case you were wondering, the first and only movie we saw together in a theater was Fun with Dick and Jane. Since, I’ve gone to see movies with my best friend, and my husband (whose a homebody) basically would watch movies at home, but now that our sons are getting older, I wanted to go on a real movie date with my husband. I loved that I was able to find theaters and show times easily from my computer, just sitting here like I am right now to write this. Saving Christmas isn’t a major Hollywood production, so there was only one theater somewhat close by that is playing it, and I was able to find it on Fandango.com. I was also able to buy tickets online when I found the theater and the perfect date and time, and I printed out our ticket voucher. My husband was a gentleman…he opened doors, held my hand, offered me popcorn.
When we got to the theater, I wasn’t sure what to do since it was my first time using Fandango. I bypassed a very long line, went to the ticket check person, pulled out my voucher and handed it over. “I’m not sure who to go to with this, do I wait on line?” I asked. She took her smart phone, scanned my voucher, said “Nope, go right in to your movie, theater 4 on the left”, and with that, we bypassed a 15 minute line and went right to our movie, on time. How convenient!
We had a great time and loved Saving Christmas, so when we saw a bunch of other movies on Fandango.com that looked awesome, my husband suggested we go to the movies more often, sometimes on dates and sometimes with our sons…of course! I am so excited to see the next movie in the Hunger Games trilogy next, and since we won’t have to wait on any lines to see it, movie nights will be so much more fun. Why isn’t everyone on Fandango yet?
This is a partnered post with Fandango, who invited me to get reacquainted with cinema

I rarely go to the movies, so it’s always a pleasure the rare times that I do get to go. This sounds like a wonderful movie, too!
We use Fandango All. The. Time. It’s the only way we buy tickets for the movies. We pair it up with our AMC card and save the service fee that way too, the annual fee for the AMC card has more than paid for itself just because of that.
With so many great movies coming out around the holidays, I know it’ll be much busier. It’s great you were able to bypass the line & get in much quicker. I’ll be using Fandago this holiday season!
I haven’t been to the movies in such a long time (I mean it’s been ages), I seriously need to go one of these days.
