My Bedroom Makeover

The home is the family’s oasis, where you reunite together after your day. Your bedroom should be even more inviting and relaxing- it’s the place your family settles in and rests, and it should be a calm and lovely place.

I love our bedroom. We have a big bed with marshmallowy pillows, calm blue walls, and beautiful dark brown wood furniture. Our window treatment was boring, but I figured it’s just a window. It looked like this:

Window Makeover

Very simple, with gauzy curtains and a gold curtain rod. I like simple, but yeah, it was boring.

So I had the chance for a window treatment makeover from Curtainworks.com, and now my window looks like this:

Window Dressing

It’s definitely a much fancier look. I was sent the Empresse Luxe Silk Solid Drapery (two panels), two matching Empresse Luxe Silk Waterfall valances, a set of Toulouse curtain holdbacks, and a matching Toulouse curtain rod.

The drapery panels are 100% silk lined with cotton, and are well-made. I had requested a set in white, but was sent ivory, which you can see in the photos (a creamy color). The curtains are sold by panels, and Curtainworks has a huge selection of styles, material, colors, and lengths. I chose the 63 inch, which looks great for our bedroom window. In the future, for a living room, I would probably select the longer option of drapes for a living room window treatment makeover- it would offer a more elegant appearance.

The waterfall valances are very fancy for a bedroom. The valance material is the same shimmery silk ivory material as the drapes, and features delicate tassles along the edges. In the future, I would choose these for another room of the house, because they are really lovely, but did not match the overall theme of the room. Curtainworks sells others options that would have suited my bedroom more (these were the ones I chose).

I absolutely love the new curtain rod and curtain holdbacks – they look terrific with the cream color of the curtain and the soft blue walls, and they are beautifully made. The Toulouse curtain rod and holdbacks are available in different finishes, and I chose the bronze to match the dark wood of the room. The glass ball decorating the curtain rod ends and the holdbacks was a complete departure from what I would have normally chosen, and I love that I took the chance.

For the specific window treatment featured here  (silk drapes and matching valance set, the curtain rod, and the drapery holdbacks) the cost would be about $200 even- a great price for something that can change the entire mood of a room so easily. Visit Curtainworks.com to shop for window treatment products including drapes, curtain rods, valance/scarves, and more.
