My husband has been asking me to mix it up a bit when it comes to his lunch, and I wasn’t sure what to try aside from his usual ham sandwiches, because he tends to be particular about what he likes and doesn’t. We had the opportunity to try out the new Hidden Valley™ Sandwich Spreads & Dips, including Smoked Bacon Ranch, Country Herb Ranch, Oven Roasted Garlic Parmesan and Spicy Chipotle Pepper, so I figured, well…why not experiment?
Made with cream cheese and white beans, Hidden Valley™ Sandwich Spreads & Dips are low fat with one-third the calories of mayonnaise and only two grams of fat per serving (which means I actually wanted to try them too). So what did we make?
Burgers with Smoked Bacon Ranch and Spicy Chipotle Pepper. I used them on our beef burgers, along with a healthy helping of grilled peppers and American cheese, and on our chicken burgers (since I love ’em).
I made him the perfect breakfast sandwich, which he raved about- a bagel with an egg sunny side up, lettuce, sliced tomato, American cheese, and a bit of seasoning, spread thick with Country Herb Ranch.
And because I really love these spreads, I made a pasta salad and tossed it with the Oven Roasted Garlic Parmesan. For my lunches, I used it as a dressing in my salads as well (with some grilled chicken)…there are so many uses for these fabulously tasty sandwich spreads!
…So I’d say the days of plain ol’ ham sandwiches with nothing more than mayo or mustard are over (and my husband is cheering over that).
