Diapers have come a long way. From the days of cloth diapers (that had to be washed and reused) to what I now have in my hands, Huggies Slip-Ons, clearly advances in diapers have been made to save the sanity of parents everywhere who don’t need another thing to do in their already busy lives.
Huggies Slip-Ons are disposable diapers that take out what is probably the most time-consuming step in diaper changing- the one where you have to hug-wrestle your baby into a state of stillness so you can attempt to affix the diaper tabs in place (or at least fasten them well enough that they don’t fall off or leave huge gaps).
I’m all for spending time doing things for my family, like cooking healthy dinners from scratch, or cleaning with all natural products that I often make myself, but when it comes to diaper changing…well, this just isn’t where I want to fritter my precious little free time. I also love that it encourages independence (he can do it himself), and is basically nothing more than a slip off, slip on process.
Huggies Slip ons sound about right to me, I’m really not sure why diapers weren’t always made to be slipped on. The best part is that I can put them on him while he stands up, so he is happy, and has really taken to Huggies Slip Ons from the first fit. My son really disliked lying down for a diaper change, but slipping them of and a new pair on quickly when I catch him running past me is actually fun for him, so it’s just brilliant all around. His “first fitting” made him feel like his big brother, who pulls on his own underwear standing up. I have two big boys now.
