This is my favorite time of year. It’s spring, the beginning of the warm weather and longer hours of sunshine, blossoming flowers, and fabulous days at the park. It’s also the start of months of holidays and birthdays, fun celebrations, family reunions, and much more.
I love this time of year.
Our family really enjoys grilling on the barbecue if the weather is nice (and even if it isn’t), particularly burgers, chicken, and hot dogs. We recently got together to celebrate Memorial Day, in honoro of those who served, and we served a medley of yummy foods buffet style, as well as cute patriotic decorations. The offerings included mini taco bites, Caprese kebabs, and pulled pork burgers on King’s Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls and hamburger buns. There was something for everyone, and everyone had a blast.
I love burgers, whether it be turkey burgers, beef burgers, chicken burgers, anything, and I love all kinds of toppings. My absolute favorite burger though is the one we served at our get together, a pulled pork burger served on a sweet King’s Hawaiian sweet roll and topped with tangy home made cole slaw. It’s delicious, and I always go back for seconds and thirds- it’s the best!
The weather was a lovely, mid 60’s day, the children ran around and played while we watched, and everyone was happy and enjoying the beautiful, relaxed day. Isn’t this what life is all about?
