Every year around this time (tax time) I start to feel dread. Not because I expect to owe big bucks to the IRS, but because I have to get all my paperwork together to visit my accountant. It can be a hassle, to say the least, getting all that paperwork together if you haven’t been organizing and collecting it all along…did I get prescriptiions this year? From which pharmacy? When did my husband pay for 2009’s insurance premiums? Where did I put my continuing education credit receipts??

I was sent six items as part of a review set, in Carolina Pad’s most popular collection, Hot Chocolate. The first item, a 26-pocket expanding file, has plastic pockets, a hard outer case, and a handle. The 26 pockets are perfect for both monthly categorizing as well as alphabetical organizing (it comes with labels for both), making it suitable for keeping all your most important paperwork and documents in order so you aren’t scrambling around for them each year at tax time or when you need to look something up. It comes with a snap-lock to keep all your relevant paperwork safely inside when you carry it around or store it away.
The review set also came with a narrower but still full-sized 13-pocket Expanding Accordian File, also with sturdy plastic pockets. This would be great for organizing bills and receipts by month, for easy access when I need them. It has a fold-over cover with fastener to keep it closed.
A set of twelve coordinating file folders is also part of the set. I have so much going on this year, such as my son’s baptism, my sister-in-law’s wedding, and a family trip, that these would be great for keeping information for all these important events organized together in their own place. An eight-pocket Organizational Folder (spiral bound), with two of the pockets in the covers and the rest in easy-to-clean plastic pages, is great to carry along in a purse for organizing as well. I have been using this to organize paperwork for my blog, and I love it. It’s so attractive, and a spiral notebook of folders is a brilliant organizing idea!
Also included are a set of Hot Chocolate binder clips and paper clips that are very sturdy and pretty. I love the idea of keeping important papers together neatly with these stylish paper accessories. The whole matching set makes me look very well put together…I’m sure my accountant will be impressed 🙂
What I love most about this set is that it will help me be prepared annually, for years to come. After I have my taxes done, everything for the year will be put into a manila envelope and stored away, and I can reuse all these great products to make sure next year I’m not scrambling around looking for receipts and important information.
