Educational Insights Review and Give Away (US and Canada)

I have a smart little man, and what does a smart little man need? Toys that are both fun and challenging. As a parent, it can be a difficult to find educational toys for toddlers that are entertaining, and vice versa, so when you find those that are: success!

Educational Insights is a company that creates toys that both entertain and educate, and we had the opportunity to try out two products with little man, starting with Hot Dots Jr, including Dog “Ace” and Beginning Phonics cards. Because our little guy is a sponge that picks up everything so quickly, and is now learning to sound out words, Beginning Phonics seemed like a great choice for us.

Hot Dog Jr is for today’s tech tots who are learning the basics of vocabulary and reading (and beyond) and also enjoy using gadgets. It combines a talking critter “pen” that reads the learning cards when your child chooses an answer to the challenge on the card. If your child picks the right answer, Ace the Dog lets him know. He also lets him know if he answered wrong so he can guess again. Interactive learning not only encourages a child more, but it allows you to leave your little scholar to learn on his own during his play time, without you needing to let him know if he chose correctly or not (because at this age, toddlers like a bit of independence too).

The second educational toy we received was BBQ Blitz, a beat the clock matching game where children race against each other or a timer to match up their burger toppings with their plates using nothing but their memory and a spatula.

BBQ Blitz is a great game because my toddler loves figuring things out and enjoys challenges. He actually chose this game himself because he also loves burgers (I sat him in my lap to point to what he wanted, and he was very excited about this game) and he has lots of fun make-believe grilling and “eating” his double and triple stacked burgers. The rush of the beat the clock aspect, the fun of trying to remember where a patty topping was, lifting and transferring the patties with the spatula, he loves it all, and all of it helps him develop…a great game for your toddlers or as a gift idea!
