It’s National Bike Safety Month, and Chuggington has partnered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a child-friendly traffic safety campaign, Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe!. This campaign provide safety guidelines to children and families across the nation, and since spring is a time when trainees are back on their bikes, practicing bicycle safety to prevent injuries is very important. Here are some basic bicycle safety tips for kids to get you started:
· Always wear a helmet, buckled under your chin, and the correct size
· Ride with adult supervision
· Never ride your bicycle in the street
Up to now, the ‘Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe’ campaign has received over 460,000 pledges from children nationwide to be safe when it comes to traffic safety, so head over and help them reach 500,000 by pledging along with your own trainees. Keep an eye out for the Chuggington Trainees starring in a fun-filled dvd, Wilson and the Ice Cream Fair, available this week! Six ice cream adventures teach your own little chuggers great lessons like hard work, courage, and cooperation (and of course, if your son or grandson is like my son, the trains “choo choo”-ing alone will be thrilling- he makes his own sound effects complete with pulling an imaginary break). There are six train-rific episodes for your little trainess to enjoy, including Wilson and the Ice Cream, Bang Klang Wilson, Frostini’s Fruit Fandango, Frostini’s Meltdown, Koko’s Puppy Training, and Brewster and the Dragon.
To enjoy the warm weather and spring even more, Chuggington-themed bubble blowing train whistles and vinyl playballs are now available and sure to be a hit with train-loving tots everywhere. The Little Kids, Inc train whistle sounds like a real train whistle and blow bubbles at the same time, and my son’s favorite new toys is the Light Up Bubble Chuggers, which (as you might have guessed) lights up as it blows out streams of bubbles when you push the button. The playballs are available in two sizes, for smaller and bigger conductors, and feature popular Trainees such as Wilson, Brewster, and Koko.

Bike safety is important. I know my mom lives in a rural area, and every time I visit her, I see kids out on the roads/streets riding their bikes without helmets and not practicing any safety measures. :/

I always make sure my daughter has her safety gear on.
Where I live, it is the law that all wheeled sports (tricycle, scooter, bike, skateboard, etc, etc) must have helmets worn from age 1-17.
My husband and I always teach our kids about bike safety.
The bubble blowing whistles would be fun for me too! I’m glad you mentioned that the bike helmets should be buckled under the chin, by the way. 🙂
Okay the bubble blowing whistles would be a favorite with us.
Great tips! 🙂
My 4 yr old son watches Chuggington during the day. He goes in spurts. He’ll watch it all month then switch to something else then watch it all month again he’s so fickle
When sweet baby is old enough for a bike we’ll go to parks. Can’t wait 🙂
We are getting my daughter her first bike for her birthday … Those rules will be good to go over with her.
