🎁 Thoughtful Gift Ideas for the Holidays

The holidays are the perfect time to slow down, sip something warm, and give with intention. Whether you’re shopping for a loved one who loves to read, play, or savor quiet moments, these five gifts bring comfort, creativity, and a touch of joy to the season.

1. Adagio Teas’ 2025 Tea Advent Calendar

Perfect for tea lovers, Adagio’s annual advent calendar offers 24 days of cozy anticipation, and it’s become a cherished tradition for many. Each window reveals a new blend to discover, ranging from classic black teas to flavorful herbals and festive holiday favorites. The variety is incredible and always delicious.

Enjoying my hot morning cup of tea is one of my favorite winter rituals, and this calendar makes those quiet moments even more special. Each day brings a tiny surprise of warmth and flavor leading up to Christmas. The Adagio Tea Advent Calendar is available as loose tea, teabags, and even a decaf version. Some of the included flavors? Gingerbread, caramel crÚme brûlée, sweet potato pie, and rooibos cinnamon roll
 yum.

2. Nintendo Switch: Pokémon Legends: Z-A

For gamers young and old, PokĂ©mon Legends: Z-A a fresh adventure in the always-evolving PokĂ©mon world. With stunning visuals, open-world exploration, and a nostalgic twist, it’s the perfect indoor fun for chilly holiday days.

Everyone gathers during the holidays and plays together, and my Pokémon fans are especially thrilled for a new installment filled with challenges and excitement. Players can choose Tepig, Tododile, or Chikorita as their first partner, then catch, battle, and Mega Evolve in real time to stop the Rogue Mega Evolution threatening Lumiose City. Each night, they can compete with other trainers in the Z-A Royale to climb the ranks and earn a wish. (Available on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.)

This year, my boys also want to top our tree with the Super Mario Super Star Keepsake Tree Topper and have been eyeing the collectible Legends of Zelda Chess Set—especially my older chess fanatic. The pieces are incredible!

3. Edelweiss and Workman Publishing Books for Children

♄ Zenguin — A Children’s Book with Heart

A gentle and beautifully illustrated story, Zenguin teaches kids (and reminds adults) about mindfulness, self-acceptance, and finding calm in chaos. It’s the kind of bedtime story that becomes a family favorite—warm, wise, and charming enough to read again and again. I find children’s books with tender, adorable art especially endearing and collector-worthy, and this one absolutely hits the mark. (Releases January 6, 2026.)

♄ Brain Quest Write and Erase: Alphabet Skills

Have a child learning to write? This is the tool. Easy to use (and reuse!), it lets kids practice at their own pace without fear of mistakes. Mom tip: don’t critique their writing—just let them explore. It improves naturally over time without a word from you.

♄ The Big Fat Middle School STEM 3-Book Boxed Set

My sons loved these books. It’s basically the smart kid’s friendly guide to everything—an easy-to-understand, surprisingly comprehensive explanation of the math and science concepts they’re studying in school. The graphics and drawings make tricky topics simple and intuitive, especially for visual learners. I can’t recommend the Big Fat Middle School series enough. Over the years we’ve collected different volumes as they learned new subjects, and each one has been such a help. This series includes three books to help your middle schooler ace math, science, and computer science and coding.

Whether you’re wrapping gifts for family, friends, or treating yourself, these picks bring a little more joy to the season. Pair them with a warm cup of tea, some twinkling lights, and time spent together—the best gift of all.
