When I have girlfriends over, we love to chatter over cups of tea about work, our love lives, recent plot twists on favorite tv shows, and what we’ve been up to. I’m fortunate to still have a group of best friends from college, and when we get together, we always have tea and a bunch of gossip magazines or Rom-Com movies on hand for a good girl time.
Sometimes I have friends over to watch The Bachelor together, sometimes I have everyone over as I host a Mother’s Day brunch with a breakfast buffet and tea, and other times friends visit just because. Whatever the reason, I love to have friends over, and there is always something to celebrate.
Tea Cures Grouchiness
I recently had some girlfriends over to enjoy a “Time Out” time. We aren’t all moms, but we are all very busy, and lately I started a new habit… a Do three things a day to make me happy habit. A friend told me that when we feel frustrated, or our fuse is short, it’s because we aren’t taking care of ourselves. Then we take it our on spouses, children, ourselves, and that’s not a good thing.
Instead, every day we should do three happy-making things to take care of ourselves. It could be anything from a 5 minute break with a cup of Lipton tea and a fashion magazine, to a phone call with a girlfriend (don’t those always leave you in a good mood?) or getting a pedicure, and it’s a shot of rejuvenation, so we can do the tedious things without feeling like we never have a moment to ourselves.
For me, a small tea break every day is one of my happy making things, and if my girlfriends are with me, it’s exponential.
Create a Tea Buffet
When we have a party, we love to serve things buffet style, by laying everything out for guests to help themselves and create whatever suits their fancy. A tea buffet is perfect for tea parties with friends, so everyone can choose from a selection of the most amazing teas and fix them up how they like.
I included Lipton Orange Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea and Lipton Purple Acai Blueberry Green Tea (I have been trying to drink more green tea because it has so many benefits), Lipton Daring English Breakfast Black Tea and Lipton Stirring Ceylon Black Tea, and Lipton Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea. The aromas alone were mesmerizing, and as our teas steeped, we reveled in frivolous girl talk.
Lipton Tea now makes a variety of new Lipton Herbal and Lipton Black teas in addition to improving a selection of their Green Teas, and as someone who drinks tea daily, I had to try some.
