Get Inspired To Reinvent Yourself @Netflix #StreamTeam

Spring is finally here…finally. It was a long, harsh winter in New York this year, and I really can’t remember a spring I was more looking forward to. One of the most wonderful aspects of spring is how everything just comes back to life again…trees come to life, flowers bloom, vibrant color returns everywhere. It’s a great time to reinvent yourself or rejuvenate your life with electricity, so of course movies that inspire our desire to reinvent ourselves are Must Sees!

A great new Netflix Original Series that premiered last week is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. At first it looked a bit campy to me (the first ten minutes) but I’ve always loved other Original Netflix Programming, so I figured I’d give it a shot right out of the gate (and actually be one of the first people who know about a cool new show, and not always the person catching up three seasons later). I’m already hooked, it’s both funny and satirical (and it’s campy in the awesome sense).

unbreakable-kimmy-schmidt

Kimmy is a gal who was lured underground into a cult for 15 years, trapped with three other women and convinced the rest of the world suffered a nuclear attack that she was being protected from. Until the day they were rescued, and she faced the modern, social media, expensive, tech age…she decided she wasn’t going to just be one of the Mole Women, a victim of a cult leader, and decided she was going to jump in with both feet and be a successful part of the world, finally getting everything she’s been dreaming of since middle school (like cool shoes and a kiss from a boy).

And now I’m addicted (I watched four episodes without stopping in one sitting).

Bridget Jones Diary

And if you love RomComs and old favorites, it’s time to re-watch Bridget Jones’ Diary! You can stream it now on Netflix, and I plan to have a get together with my girlfriends to watch it together…it’s one of my favorite movies ever! I can watch it over and over. Talk about a woman reinventing herself! A put-upon, frumpy, perpetually dateless, underappreciated employee, Bridget decides to take control of her life- all aspects of it! It’s funny, it’s romantic, it’s totally inspiring…made me want to just take a bunch of chances myself the first time I saw it, and everytime since I still get the same jolt of energy and desire to just change things and make things happen.

This sounds like a really great show. Netflix is doing a good job of making itself a contender for original content.

I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this show! I love binge watching on Netflix and am going to add this to my list!
